Christmas supermarket delivery slots 2023 including Tesco, Asda and Ocado

Christmas is now less than 90 days away - and major supermarkets across the UK have revealed the release dates of their delivery slots.

Delivery slots are essential to some customers who struggle to get to their nearest store, while they’re also favoured by some families who prefer the convenience of not having to visit the supermarket in-person.

Christmas delivery slots tend to go quickly, so if you’re planning on booking one, make sure you make a note of the dates below. Of course, if you’re able to visit a store in-person, then you’ll save money on delivery or click and collect fees.

Asda

Asda Delivery Pass customers will be able to book their Christmas slot from October 3. All other customers will be able to book from October 10.

The supermarket will offer deliveries on Christmas eve this year but these slots will only be available from December 20. Asda said over one million home delivery and click and collect slots will be available in the week leading up to Christmas.

The minimum online spend at Asda is £40 for delivery and £25 for click and collect. It costs £6.50 a month for a 12-month Anytime Pass, or £3.50 for a Midweek Pass. For a one-off payment, the 12-month Anytime Pass costs £65 and the Midweek Pass costs £35.

Iceland

Iceland has not yet revealed when its Christmas slots will be made available from. The minimum delivery charge for Iceland is £25

The supermarket offers free delivery when you spend £40 or more - orders under this amount are charged £3.

Morrisons

Morrisons Delivery Pass customers will be able to book their Christmas slots from October 18. All other customers will be able to book later in the month.

The minimum online spend at Morrisons is £25. It costs £60 for an annual Anytime Pass, or £40 for an Midweek Pass. If you go for the six-month option, Morrisons charges £45 for the Anytime Pass, or £25 for the Midweek Pass.

Monthly subscribers pay £8 for the Anytime Pass, or £5 for the Midweek Pass.

Ocado

Ocado has this week started notifying customers about its Christmas delivery slots. The online grocer is giving priority to Smart Pass customers who signed up on or before September 1, 2023.

Once it is your turn to book, you'll receive an email or text from Ocado. Christmas slots are being staggered, so customers will be notified at different times.

Which? reports that slots booked for between December 20 and 25 will have a minimum spend of £90. Ocado, which also delivers M&S food, charges £89.99 for an annual Anytime Pass, or £39.99 for a Midweek Pass.

If you go for six months, you'll pay £49.99 for an Anytime Pass, or £22.49 for the Midweek Pass. Monthly customers pay £8.99 for an Anytime Pass, or £3.99 for the Midweek Pass.

Sainsbury's

Sainsbury's will start to allow Delivery Pass shoppers to book slots from October 16. You'll receive an email when slots are available to book.

All other customers will be able to book from October 23. Click and Collect slots will be available from Sainsbury's from November 20.

The minimum online spend at Sainsbury's is £25. It costs £80 for an annual Anytime Pass, or £40 for an Midweek Pass. There is only a six-month option for the Anytime Pass, which costs £43. The monthly Anytime Pass costs £7.50 and the Midweek Pass costs £4.

Tesco

Tesco Anytime Delivery Saver and Click and Collect Delivery Saver customers can book slots from November 7 - this doesn't include Off-Peak Delivery Saver customers. All other customers will be able to book from November 21.

The minimum spend for Tesco deliveries is £50 and for click and collect, the minimum is £25. Tesco charges £6.99 a month for a 12-month Anytime Pass, or £3.99 a month for the Off-Peak Pass.

For the six-month plans, you'll pay £7.99 a month for the Anytime Pass, £4.99 a month for the Off-Peak Pass or £2.49 a month for click and collect.

Waitrose

Waitrose has not yet revealed when its Christmas delivery slots will be made available from. There is a minimum spend of £40 at Waitrose.

Waitrose does not offer delivery passes, instead it charges £3 per slot.
