Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce quickly became America's new favourite couple, but the NFL star's ex issued a stern warning to the pop star.
Their light-hearted and carefree fling didn't last long and is now being hit with its first major controversy. Maya Benberry, winner of Travis's reality dating show Catching Kelce, boldly labeled Travis as a cheater following their relationship that lasted a couple of months. In an old, now deleted tweet, Maya wrote: "When you and your ex broke up five months ago but you find out via social media that he’s supposedly been in another relationship for 6…"
Maya asserted that he cheated on her with sports broadcaster Kayla Nicole. She said she's looking out for Taylor in this situation because she isn't confident that her ex has been able to change - but Travis is denying the accusation.

Although Maya claimed they dated for longer, a source close to Travis told TMZ that the pair only lasted for two months after the show. When the relationship ended, they weren't able to publicly admit it since there was a contract in place with the network. According to the insider, Travis didn't even cheat on Maya. They called Maya's allegations "a poor excuse of someone trying to get her 15 min of fame", explaining that Maya and Travis hadn't spoken in five years.

He avoided commenting on Maya's accusations, but said he never was unfaithful to Kayla. "This is fake news… a lie… and not why Kayla and I broke up… take all your hatred somewhere else please," he said in 2020.
Nonetheless, Maya believes that she's sticking to the girl code in this situation. She said: "Taylor seems like such a fun girl with a beautiful spirit, so I wish her the best of luck, but I wouldn’t be a girls’ girl if I didn’t advise her to be smart!"
