Back in May, Noel Fielding celebrated a landmark birthday, and many fans were left positively flabbergasted to learn just how many candles he was blowing out. The comedian is perhaps best known nowadays for his presenting work on The Great British Bake Off, but he has enjoyed a very long and varied career before joining the beloved baking contest.
Noel first began to make a name for himself as part of The Mighty Boosh comedy troupe back in the 2000s, becoming known for his surreal sense of humour. As he shot to fame, Noel also became known for his packed social calendar and was often papped out partying in London with famous pals.
Nowadays, Noel has swapped all-night clubbing for a more low-key family life, but still brings a touch of zaniness to the Bake Off tent, and has a youthful way about him that takes years off his age.
On May 21 this year, Noel left fans flabbergasted after sharing a pic of himself alongside his Might Boosh co-stars, sparking hopes for a reunion. However, it wasn't the photo that left jaws on the floor, but the caption, which revealed that the comedian had just celebrated his 50th birthday. To the astonishment of many, Noel wrote: "I am 5o can't explain how much i loved my birthday x half a century x."
One amazed person gasped: "50? Whose blood are you drinking?" Another commented: "Happy birthday Noel! Vampires don't age." A third person said: "How can you be 50?! So fabulous!!" This wasn't the first time Noel has left people doubting their own eyes over his age. During the 2020 season of Bake Off, Noel and co-host Matt Lucas could be seen reminiscing over the '80s while the contestants whipped up retro-themed cakes.

One disbelieving person tweeted: "Noel is 47?! Am I the only one who is in shock at this revelation?" Another agreed: "Biggest shocker this week is finding out that Noel Fielding is 47!"
