Whether you love it or hate it, Wetherspoons is an iconic British treasure. With their cheap drinks, questionable patterned carpets and all-day breakfasts, Wetherspoon's has a soft spot in every Brit's heart.
The beauty of it is that you're never too far from a JD Wetherspoon location either. You can even find them in airports before you jet off on holiday, and now, you can even visit a copycat version of the iconic chain in this popular sunny hotspot too. As the first Wetherspoon's 'dupe' for Brits missing the pub whilst away - it's even got a name that holidaymakers will recognise.
In an amusing turn of events, an establishment called Wetherspains has opened in Benalmadena, on the Costa Del Sol and it's giving Brits a taste of home. Whilst it compares closely with Wetherspoons' prices and food, the big difference is that the Spanish version promises some sunshine and drinkers can enjoy a pint whilst enjoying the weather. With holidaymakers flocking to the Spanish pub, it's become a hotspot for tourists getting their home comforts.
With traditional pub grub on offer, you can expect to see bangers and mash, lasagne, chicken kiev's, deep-filled pies, and gammon and chips on the menu. As well as sandwiches, burgers, salads, and desserts too. All of these can then be washed down with Weatherspains pints and cocktails.
Ran by Brits out there, the pub has a high rating of 4.8/5 on Facebook and 4.5 on TripAdvisor, making it a higher ranking than most Wetherspoons pubs in the UK. With 137 sparkling reviews on TripAdvisor, and only seven negative, it shows just how loved the copycat boozer is. Armed with the classic British pub décor, customers can enjoy the pub grub and cheap drinks - and the pub also puts on entertainment for its customers such as karaoke, bingo, and raffles, something the UK chain is missing out on.
