Tom Parker's widow Kelsey has described his death as “magical to watch” and said her late husband’s soul was “ready to leave him”.
The Wanted singer, 33, passed away in March last year from brain cancer, after he was diagnosed with an inoperable tumour in October 2020. In 2021, he revealed his tumour was stable and he was able to tour with his bandmates Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness and Nathan Sykes on select nights of their successful reunion tour. However, his condition suddenly deteriorated, and despite chemotherapy and intensive treatments, he died with Kelsey by his side.
“It is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm Tom passed away peacefully earlier today with all of his family by his side. Our hearts are broken, Tom was the centre of our world and we can’t imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence,” she said in a heartbreaking statement. Now, 18 months later, Kelsey has bravely spoken about her husband’s death, and assured fans he “didn’t die in pain”, as was at peace during the last few days of his life.

It was so special to watch,” she shared. “It wasn’t like he wasn’t struggling or anything like that. He looked amazing and he just passed over.”
While she was devastated over his death, Kelsey has tried to remain optimistic, and admitted she and Tom didn’t discuss the possibility of him dying after he was diagnosed because they called themselves “The Positive Parkers”. She said she was “on a mission” to find a cure or a miracle treatment, and “went to the ends of the earth to try and save him”. Kelsey heartbreakingly recalled: “There was nothing I couldn’t do or wouldn’t have done for him.”

Kelsey, who recently went public with her new relationship, also candidly spoke about the way she’s trying to deal with the grief following Tom’s death, and said there was “no guidebook” to help. “It won’t get bigger, it won’t get smaller, it’s just going to remain the same until I die,” she sadly shared.
