ITV icons Ben Shephard, Andi Peters and Dermot O'Leary reunited on Friday (September 22) to recreate a 20-year old snap from their television past. The presenting trio hooked up in the Good Morning Britain studio after Dermot, 50, arrived on set to promote his new book, Wings of Glory.
With Ben, 48, and Andi, 53, present for their regular slots on the morning show, they used the opportunity to recreate the photo from yesteryear, which saw Ben sandwiched in the middle with an arm on the shoulder of each of his two pals.
Ben, who joined the broadcaster in 2004 explained the backstory behind the original image. "What people might not realise, maybe some, is that Dermot and I started on television together, way, way back in the original carnation of Channel 4’s T4," he said.
He continued: "And there is someone else there, you might recognise, television’s Andi Peters, who gave us both our first jobs in television." Kate Garraway made the same observation, meanwhile, adding: "Dermot you’ve got more hair now, than then! Most people don’t have that narrative arc."
Dermot, taking a break from his regular slot on This Morning, responded: "There’s a guy on Instagram who is convinced I wear a wig and he will not leave me alone!" Wings of Glory is a wartime action-adventure story aimed at eight to nine-year olds.
Corrie's Sue Cleaver says I'm A Celebrity stint helped her to push boundariesIt appears the former X-Factor host has been busy doing the rounds of the ITV studios in recent times. Last week he appeared on Lorraine where he heaped praise on his This Morning co-stars, Holly Willoughby and Alison Hammond.
Dermot and Alison became part of the popular morning show in 2021, replacing the long-standing husband and wife duo, Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.
Lorraine playfully commented on Dermot and Alison's on-screen chemistry, saying, "You and Alison are like brother and sister isn't it? It really is very naughty and very cheeky." To which Dermot responded, "I feel very lucky, I've known Holly for a very long time, we started out on X Factor."
Dermot, who now shares hosting duties with Holly on This Morning, expressed his admiration for her. Holly currently presents the ITV show four days a week, alongside Alison, Dermot, Craig Doyle, and Josie Gibson.
Continuing his praises, Dermot said, "To be able to do it with Holly and then the last couple of years have that chemistry with Alison and, like you said, she is like a sister, so we have a lot of fun. It's a nice team you know, it's a nice group of the five of us. Me and Craig [Doyle] keep in touch, We had a lovely night at the NTAs together and Josie's [Gibson] brill, it's a nice vibe."
