Morrisons have issued an urgent recall after a meat product was found to contain a dangerous bacterial infection.
Customers who have bought the 200g Spanish Chorizo Ring from the supermarket have been told not to eat it and return it to their nearest Morrisons immediately - because it could contain salmonella. The warning applies to products with a best before date of 08/12/23. Anyone with the product can return it to the shop for a full refund, and you don't need to bring a receipt.

It is one of the leading causes of food-borne illness. While uncomfortable, salmonella infections are not usually life-threatening. The infection usually clears after a few days, and most people do not need treatment but should drink plenty of water. Salmonella can however lead to complications in some health groups, such as infants, young children, older adults, recipients of transplants, pregnant women, and people with compromised immune systems.
A Morrisons spokesperson told the Mirror they had "temporarily removed" the product from sale as a precautionary measure while investigations continue after receiving an adverse result on routine product testing. A message from the retailer to customers reads: "As a precautionary measure, Morrisons is recalling the above date code of this product as there is a risk it may contain Salmonella. Please do not eat this product and return it to your nearest store for a full refund. We don’t need a receipt.
"No other products are affected by this issue. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and assure customers of our continuing commitment to the highest standard of product quality and safety." The Food Standards Agency have been approached for comment.
