Aljaž Škorjanec has been dad-shamed while feeding his newborn daughter, with fans rushing to defend the new parent.
The Strictly Come Dancing star has come under fire from fans after sharing a sweet clip feeding his baby. The professional dancer and his wife Janette Manrara welcomed their first child Lyra Rose back in July, and the pair have been keeping their fans updated with how they've been getting on with parenthood.
In a new post he bottle fed baby Lyra while he cradled her head in his hand. He was also joined by his niece and nephew who also fed their dolls in the background. Aljaž captioned the sweep post: "Morning feeding frenzy." As many people praised the new father, some took to the comments to point out faults in his parenting style.
One person wrote: "Babies should be cuddled when being fed to make it as near breastfeeding experience. Breast is far better but not everyone can do it." "Please cuddle the baby when feeding its supposed to replicate breastfeeding and the baby can feel secure. Holding her by the neck is appalling," a second added.
However, multiple followers jumped to the TV star's defence, with one saying: "appalling?! Wow way to make a new parent feel good." While another commented: "Do you think you could possibly be any ruder? Because telling someone their clearly loving and gentle parenting style is "appalling" is seriously up there."
Strictly's Molly Rainford and Tyler West fuel romance rumours while on tour"Look at the love & concentration on daddies face," a third wrote. Another said: "Never seen a more devoted father." Strictly Come Dancing host and friend of Janette and Aljaž Tess Daly commented: "Top daddy!!"
The dancing couple announced earlier this year that they were expecting their first baby. The pair were set to start their IVF journey before finding out they had got pregnant naturally. Janette previously told HELLO! magazine: "For the past couple of years we hadn’t been using protection but nothing was happening, so we thought IVF was the next best thing for us to do.
"The doctor said that as soon as I got my period we would start injections, but my period never came. I know that IVF can be really strenuous on a woman’s body and there is no guarantee it will work, so to know that this little miracle just came from a wonderful night we had together is amazing."
