Coco Gauff's coach issued a swift apology after he accidentally tagged an adult content company in a post as he hailed Novak Djokovic for his US Open exploits.

Brad Gilbert was left in an embarrassing situation as he took to Twitter/X to hail the world number two for his entertaining antics after beating Taylor Fritz. The all-time record Grand Slam holder booked his place in the last four at Flushing Meadows in a straight sets victory.

Chasing a 24th major of his glittering career, the 1-6 4-6 4-6 win meant that he would face emerging American talent Ben Shelton in the semi-final. Despite his long career at the top, the Serbian legend showed that winning still remains as intoxicating as ever as he led an impromptu singalong after his crucial victory.

The 36-year-old savoured the moment by grabbing the microphone from an interviewer to sing Beastie Boys classic Fight For Your Right. The memorable spectacle was warmly received by the crowd and it seems Gauff's coach Gilbert was similarly enthused.

Sharing a post which included a video of Djokovic breaking into song, the former world number four suffered a considerable faux pas as he tried to tag in the Beastie Boys. By mistake, the 62-year-old instead tagged in an adult content account, to the tennis analyst's embarrassment.

Gilbert issued a swift apology after realising his error, while swiftly making sure to delete the post. Seeing the amusing side of his error said: "I will give myself a straight red card and 24-hour suspension for honest mistake on wrong tag."

Luckily, some of his 165k followers on the social media site made sure to send some reassurance his way following the accidental post. One commenter sent some support the popular commentator's way, saying: "An honest and innocent unforced error."

The outspoken TV personality has been working overtime during this year's US Open, combining his work on screen with pre and post-match interviews at the tournament for ESPN. A well-respected coach in the game, he has also lent his support to stars including Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick and Andy Murray down the years.

Gauff will now face Karolina Muchova for a place in Saturday's final, her first grand slam final since Roland Garros last year.
