Molly-Mae Hague has been defended by an unlikely fan after she was criticised over her recent trip to New York.
The former Love Island star jetted off to the city over the weekend, and shared snaps from her break on Instagram. While some of her fans were supportive of the pictures she uploaded, many questioned why she was on another holiday. “Question is why do you go on holiday so much?” one follower asked, prompting a furious debate in the comments. “Question is: why not? Why shouldn’t she?” one fired back. “Because she can and she will if she likes but if u follow her u will no it’s work,” another added. “Question is: what’s it got to do with anybody else?!” one fumed. (sic)
Molly, who welcomed her first child Bambi earlier this year, regularly faces harsh criticism on social media, and is taunted over her appearance, her home, and her businesses. “Do you miss bambi? you barely mention her when you’re away,” a troll commented on one of Molly’s NYC posts. However, the 24-year-old, who is engaged to longtime love Tommy Fury, has been defended on social media by an unlikely fan.

The former Love Island star is on a work trip (Tik Tok)Controversial TV star Katie Hopkins, who was permanently banned from Twitter after breaking rules on spreading hateful messages and abuse, recently shared a video on TikTok in which she spoke up for Molly, and offered up some valuable advice to the young star. “I wanted to say a few things to Molly Mae, who seems to have been crucified on social media at the moment. Molly, my name is Katie Hopkins. I was known as probably the biggest tw*t in Britain, probably the sort of tw*t you could see from outer space,” Katie joked.
“So here’s just a few things I think it’s really important for you to remember right now. Number one: you don’t deserve all the sh*t that you’re getting. We should be looking after people, especially young people, much better right now. And many of us can remember Caroline Flack, who’s an absolute darling, and suffered at the hands of the mob and killed herself as a result. We don’t need another Caroline Flack,” the former Apprentice star warned.

It’s a terrible pity, but that’s just the truth of it,” the controversial star continued. She told Molly that people were directing “jealousy” and “unkindness” towards her, and urged her to stop explaining herself to the trolls, as she owed them nothing. “Never apologise, never explain - it won’t satiate the b*****ds, they still have a weird bloodlust because you’ve done so well and people are jealous of you,” Katie explained.
She advised Molly to think of the constant criticism as “noise”, and while she understood how “hard” it was to ignore it, Katie said getting outside and “away from all the tech” was the best thing to do when it becomes overwhelming. “Not everybody is pointing, staring and laughing. It’s just a few people on Twitter,” she stated, adding that Molly needed to “remember you’re not a bad person” because she was “inspiring young women” to have big aspirations.
