GMB's Susanna Reid forces co-host Ed Balls to apologise after swearing on air

Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid was forced to intervene and lay down the law after co-host Ed Balls repeated explicit language live on air.
The former MP, 56, was repeating a comment made by Education Secretary Gillian Keegan who was caught on camera saying others "sat on their a***" when talking about the concrete crisis hitting schools across the nation. But Susanna, 52, was certainly not willing to let it go despite Ed's attempt to reason with her. Gillian Keegan had just finished filming an ITV News interview when she expressed an emotional but explicit opinion - not knowing that her microphone was still on.

She was overheard saying: "Does anyone ever say, 'You know what, you’ve done a f****** good job,' because everyone else has sat on their a*** and done nothing? No signs of that, no?" And so speaking about Gillian's blunder Ed said: "Who was she annoyed at? Who was she saying was sitting on their a***?’
But the moment the words left Ed's mouth, Susanna was quick to jump in and said: "You can’t say that word!" In an attempt to defend himself Ed responded: "We just had it on the television." Standing firm Susanna continued: "I know, even though the education secretary said it, you might have noticed I then apologised for it."
A defeated Ed then apologised to viewers and said: "I would like to apologise for the fact that I said what the Education Secretary said, who is in charge of all the schools in our country and the wellbeing of all young people under the age of 18." He added: "I used the same language as her which I thought was acceptable and it’s not. And I would like to apologise."

A red faced Ed then added: "You just played it on the programme, I thought it was okay! I am so sorry!" Trying to ease the awkwardness, Susanna then joked: "We are mired in apologies this morning." But Edv was not the only one who was forced to apologise for his poor choice of words, so too was Gillian. In a follow-up interview she apologised for her "choice of language" and said it was an "off-the-cuff remark."
Susanna recently caused a stir for another reason earlier this week when she sported a hair transformation ahead of her return on Good Morning Britain on ITV. The presenter showed off a new shorter hairdo which was a lot brighter than her trademark brunette. Sharing her new look with fans on social media, she posed for a mirror selfie as her summer break came to an end.
She captioned the post saying: "NEW TERM - NEW TRIM! Back @gmb tomorrow with @edballs. Looking forward to seeing you from 6 am." And her fans went wild. One wrote: "Hope you enjoyed your summer holidays - looks food and suits you." And another said: "Absolutely luv that new hairstyle on you. Really looks great xxx."
