iPhone 14 v iPhone 15 - the 5 biggest changes that could make you upgrade
Apple recently confirmed that its next big launch event is taking place on Tuesday, September 12 which means there's just one week to go until we find out exactly what the US technology giant has in store for its next smartphone.
The showcase, which Apple teased in an invite as "Wonderlust", will kick off at 6pm BST with the unveiling coming live from the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino - it's set to be a blockbuster night full of announcements. So what exactly will be unveiled on stage in California and will it be enough to convince you to ditch your current smartphone?
Although Apple always keeps its announcements close to its chest there has been a swathe of rumours around the launch of the iPhone 15 and most seem extremely plausible,
Mirror Online has been checking out the latest gossip and here's what we think will be coming to this device and why the changes could make you ditch your current device.

iPHONE 15: THE CHARGING PORT
If the rumours are true then the famous Lightning port that's been part of the iPhone for over 10 years is being banished to the history books. It seems the iPhone 15 will adopt USB-C for the first time which means one single cable will be able to refill your MacBook, iPad and phone for the very first time. USB-C has been used on Apple's laptops and tablets for some time so it makes sense for the iPhone to follow as well.
It's also thought that along with cutting down on cable clutter, this technology will offer faster refilling. That's good news for anyone who often finds their device is running low at night.
Of course, another reason that Apple is switching to USB-C is due to new rules being forced upon tech firms by the EU. Lawmakers want all gadgets to use the same charging ports by the end of next year and Apple isn't getting any favours with the US firm having to abide by the new rules if it wants to carry on selling devices in Europe.

iPHONE 15: THE POWER
Apple continues to rule the roost when it comes to processing power and the iPhone 15 looks set to make the divide even bigger between iPhone and Android.
The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max come packed with the A16 Bionic processor (a chip that already blitzes its rivals) but things could be boosted further by the inclusion of an A17 Bionic chip which could be even faster.
This will surely make the iPhone 15 Pro the most formidable call maker on the planet but we'll have to wait and see just how much better they are when full specs are released on September 12.
iPHONE 15: THE SCREEN

The iPhone 14 already features a very impressive OLED Retina display but the iPhone 15 could make the user experience better for owners. It's been rumoured that these devices will include a screen with much slimmer bezels that push right to the very edge of the case. That means more space for content, messages and emails without the phone getting any bigger in size.

iPHONE 15: THE CAMERA
The iPhone 14 is no slouch when it comes to photography but with Samsung now featuring an impressive zoom lens on its Galaxy S23 Ultra, Apple could follow with something similar on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. This would make close-ups look less grainy and give owners more options when shooting images for the family album.
It's likely that the Pro and Pro Max will get this pixel-packed upgrade although the standard model will almost certainly get a boost as well.
iPHONE 15: THE DESIGN
Right now the iPhone 14 Pro Max is made from tough steal but that could be switched to very strong titanium on the upcoming flagship from Apple. One advantage of moving to the metal is that it should make Apple's best device lighter and less of a heavyweight when tucked inside pockets.
Expect the firm's Ceramic Shield glass to also feature along with a batch of new colours.
