Lorraine Kelly shares key to happy marriage with husband as they mark 31 years

Lorraine Kelly has gushed over her husband Steve in a rare TV moment as the happily-married couple celebrate 31-years of marriage today.

With a career that spans almost 40 years, she's one of the most recognised faces on TV, which has left many people wondering what her life is like away from the camera. The TV presenter, 63, has been married to husband Steve since 1992. The lovebirds met when Steve was working as a cameraman on TV-am, and Lorraine immediately knew he was 'The One' from the very first moment she laid eyes on him.

Discussing her happy marriage on her ITV show on Tuesday, Lorraine revealed she and Steve are celebrating 31-years since they said their vows. "It's my wedding anniversary today. It's been 31 happy years and never a bad word said. Probably because he doesn't get a word in edgeways.

"I'm a very lucky woman. So happy anniversary Steve, 31 years together. We're going to celebrate in our own way tonight," Lorraine added.

Lorraine and Steve have been blessed with a happy marriage, and the TV star once shared what she believes is the secret. "I met Steve when I was about Rosie's age. I try to never take him for granted, and he's just really funny," she said. "He does put up with a lot though. If things are getting too much for me or I'm overwhelmed, he's really good at just being like: 'Take five.'"

Lorraine previously said of her husband: "He walked into the TV-am office 28 years ago where I was working as a reporter and he was part of the crew, and I thought, 'That'll do, I'm having that.' We were friends for a good year, then it all happened rather quickly when we had to do a shoot on location at Glencoe.

"We were staying in a tiny hotel in the middle of nowhere and I got him incredibly drunk on tequila before making my move. The way I remember it is that I leapt on him like a ninja and he had absolutely no defence."

In 1994 the couple became parents to Rosie, who is their only child. Lorraine suffered a miscarriage five years later. Lorraine and Steve decided not to go down the IVF or adoption route because they felt lucky to have healthy and happy Rosie.
