7 Premier League stars who could move to Saudi Arabia including Salah and Sancho

The Premier League transfer window is now closed, but that does not mean that a host of players won’t still complete transfers.
After spending a huge amount throughout the summer so far, clubs in Saudi Arabia are showing no signs of slowing down any time soon. A host of Premier League stars are being targeted for moves to the Gulf state before their respective transfer window closes.
It has been confirmed that the window over in Saudi Arabia closes on Thursday, 7 September - meaning there is still plenty of time for deals to get over the line. Take a look at the current Premier League players who could be set to cash-in over the coming days:
Mo Salah
The current biggest name linked with a switch, it is a real ‘will he, won’t he’ dilemma for Liverpool ’s Egyptian forward Mo Salah. Al-Ittihad have made their intent to sign him abundantly clear.
They have already lodged a £150m bid for the former Roma and Chelsea star, an offer that has been turned down by the Reds. It has been suggested that they could well up that bid to £200m.

Liverpool have issued a ‘not for sale’ warning to Al-Ittihad, with Jurgen Klopp regularly confirming that the Reds have no desire to lose Salah any time soon. Whether that stance remains the same as the deadline edges ever closer remains to be seen.

Ibrahima Konate
Sticking at Anfield, Salah could potentially be joined by one of his teammates in Saudi Arabia before the deadline. French centre-back Ibrahima Konate has also been linked with a move to Al-Ittihad as they aim to bolster their defensive options.
He was seen as a potential alternative to countryman Jean-Clair Todibo after he rejected a switch. In news that will likely delight Liverpool fans, Konate reportedly turned down a switch to the Gulf State. Al-Ittihad could yet return to the negotiating table should they fail to sign Salah but Liverpool remain unconvinced over selling.
Philippe Coutinho
Whilst it remains unclear over whether two current Liverpool players will be moving to Saudi Arabia, a former Red is more likely to exit. Practically since making a permanent move to Aston Villa, Philippe Coutinho has been linked with a move to the Middle East.
Whilst reports regarding a switch to Qatar are stronger, there was also previous interest in him elsewhere. Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq were linked with a swoop for the Brazilian playmaker earlier this summer after also signing Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum.
He has yet to start a game for Aston Villa this season so a move appears to be in the offing regardless of the destination.

Jadon Sancho
It certainly has not been a good week for Manchester United star Jadon Sancho and he is now being tipped to complete a move to Saudi Arabia. The England winger was left out of the starting line-up against Arsenal, with Ten Hag claiming that he had not performed in training.
Sancho hit back at those claims with an explosive statement on social media. Now, former Red Devils’ defender Rio Ferdinand has suggested that a move to Saudi Arabia might be the only resolution.
He said: "There's only one way this ends right now. Well, two ways. There's only one window open and that's Saudi. Or you're on the bench or not getting in the squad for the rest of the season."

Thomas Partey
Ghanaian midfielder Partey has been linked with making a move to Saudi Arabia throughout the majority of the summer. He was previously being targeted by Al-Ahli back in July.
At the time, Mikel Arteta confirmed that the former Atletico Madrid midfielder was set to stay at the Emirates Stadium. A sale at this stage looks unlikely considering that the Gunners did not manage to bolster their midfield options over the closing weeks of the window.
However, that stance could potentially change should they receive a big-money bid for Partey’s services over the next few days.

Jesse Lingard
Whilst not *technically* a Premier League player any more, we’re still going to include the former Man United man in this list. He is available on a free transfer following his release from Nottingham Forest at the end of last season.
The winger was previously training with former club West Ham but failed to earn a contract. He has not yet been linked with a move to the Gulf state but has revealed that he is open to a switch.
“Saudi Arabia are doing big things, and in the next couple of years or so, it will be one of the hotspots to go to,” Lingard said.
“I'm not really surprised that the big names are moving out there. Like I say, they're doing big things and it's something I would consider as well – I've not ruled that out either.”
David de Gea
Should Lingard seal a move any time soon, he could potentially be joined by former Man United teammate David de Gea. The Spaniard is still without a club following the expiry of his contract at Old Trafford.
He looked primed for a move to Real Madrid, only for the Spanish side to swoop for Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga. Al-Nassr are among the clubs that have been linked with a move for him in a switch that would see him reunited with Cristiano Ronaldo once again.
