Coronation Street's Stu Carpenter finds himself arrested next week on the cobbles as he struggles with Eliza's estranged dad Dom.
Fans will recall that Eliza was recently reunited with her dad on the hit ITV soap for the first time since birth after tracing him through social media. Eliza's protective grandfather and guardian Stu has struggled with Dom showing up and has been wary of the newcomer.
In upcoming scenes, Stu is left frustrated when Dom lets Eliza down as he fails to show up. The protective grandfather loses his temper and points out to Eliza that if her dad cared about her at all, he wouldn’t continually let her down. An upset Eliza then dashes across the road where she is knocked down by a car as the driver speeds away.

And it's not long until the two trade insults until Eliza asks Stu to leave. Later, Alya tries to assure Stu that Eliza will eventually see her dad for who he is and he'll be able to pick up the pieces. However, Stu is left further devastated when Eliza announces that she wants to go and live with her dad, leaving Dom also in shock.
Things only go from bad to worse later in the week when a concerned Stu receives a call from the school telling him Eliza failed to turn up as he thought she had gone in early. A furious Stu then arrives at Dom’s house and accuses him of kidnapping Eliza during the night.

To which Eliza explains that she ran away by herself and this is now her home. Having been summoned by Stu, a social worker arrives with a police officer in tow, intent on talking to Eliza. However, it's soon explained that it’s best Eliza stays at Dom’s house for now.
Stu is arrested for assault after accidentally hitting an officer as Dom watches on with satisfactionStu’s incensed over the update and as the officer attempts to usher him away, Stu accidentally smacks him in the face, which leads to Stu being arrested for assault as Dom watches on with satisfaction. Later in the week, the social worker calls at No.6 and tells Stu that Eliza wants to remain at her dad's, leaving Stu absolutely gutted to have lost his granddaughter.
