Getting on with neighbours is important to so many people as it makes life easier, meaning you can relax and unwind in your own home without fear of those next door goading you or making you feel uncomfortable. But sometimes, the people who live next to you can make it extremely difficult for you to remain cordial - especially when they get mad about the most petty of things.

One resident was left baffled when their neighbour made a "formal complaint" about them, all because things blew off their tree and into her garden. They were mortified, and took to Reddit's 'British Problems' page to vent about how bizarre it was that their neighbour had "moved to the countryside" and subsequently "complained about the trees."

They wrote: "My neighbour made a formal complaint about things blowing off my tree into her garden. I said show me how bad it is. She sent a picture of a single twig on her doorstep." They were so confused by the situation, and in the comments wrote: "Ohhhh, it's leaves as well. She also sent me a picture of her washing basket. It had four leaves the size of 1p coins in it. In return, I suggested she contact the Hague War Crimes Tribunal. Fire petty with petty, I say."

And when they linked out to the photo, they hilariously wrote: "CONTENT WARNING: Images may contain distressing scenes, viewer discretion is advised." The picture showed a washing basket with tiny leaves in - not exactly something worth complaining about.

"Where there is blame there is a claim", someone joked. "I'd sue the life out of the original poster, the swine." Another wrote: "Oh my God! The horror!" A Redditor quipped: "Accuse her of stealing your tree bits, demand she returns them immediately!" Someone else hilariously said: "Hope you gave her a bit of stick for that."
