EastEnders fans 'work out' Cindy Beale revenge plan for Ian after huge betrayal

Cindy Beale has returned to Walford with Ian Beale despite his attempts to stop her from leaving their home together in France but, the previously presumed dead soap icon may have a plan to get revenge on her lying ex-husband.

EastEnders fans watched as Ian tried everything in his power to stop Cindy from returning to Walford and reuniting with her ex-husband George Knight and their two daughters Anna and Gina. When Peter Beale discovered the truth, he suspected his dad was afraid of losing his ex-wife to her former lover but, Ian convinced his son he was only concerned about Cindy's wellbeing.

Cindy subsequently discovered Ian had hidden a voicemail and text message from her youngest daughter Anna but, when she questioned him on it, he was able to persuade her that he had her best interests at heart.

Speaking about Cindy and Ian's future, one EastEnders fan wrote on Reddit: "Was a little bit disappointed with the way Cindy almost dismissed Ian deleting messages from her phone. I suppose she has more to think off with Gina in hospital and Anna so angry with her , but surely had she got the messages she would have been able to reply letting the girls no she was thinking of them before she turned up. Ian is as bad as he was I see . does anything penetrate his heart before himself?"

"I think George will succumb eventually with Cindy maybe not that long either," the fan added while another suggested: "I feel like she's storing it up to use to her advantage again - she already told Ian he could make it up to her by staying in Walford, she'll bring it up again."

Another fan ruled out the possibility of a Cindy and George reunion and said: "I don’t see George sleeping with Cindy. He may not stay with Elaine and Cindy may not stay with Ian. I believe that George and Gina loathe her. Also, they don’t know of all the havoc Cindy caused on the Square through the years. She is not an empathetic character. It will be Ian and Cindy wrecking havoc for havocs sake because that’s the only dimension to their characters. It’s the downside of them being back for the audience."
