Lionel Messi wows Prince Harry as A-List stars enjoy Inter Miami's latest win
Bona fide royalty met sporting royalty as Prince Harry was left wowed by Lionel Messi's latest Inter Miami super-show.
The Argentine icon worked his magic once again for the Herons as he inspired his team to a crucial 3-1 victory over the MLS Cup holders LAFC. Among the witnesses as the visitors came away with a major road win was the fifth in line to the British crown, who later met their talisman.
The 38-year-old, who moved to California with his wife Megan Markle back in 2020, is used to being the centre of attention at royal events. However, Messi took centre stage as he starred in front of a crowd brimming with A-List stars, including Leonardo DiCaprio and Selena Gomez.
Prior to the start of the game versus LAFC, Prince Harry could barely hold his excitement back as he ruffled his scarf and beamed while looking on from the stand. He would not be left disappointed by the entertainment which soon ensued at BMO Stadium either.
On a memorable night in Los Angeles, the son of King Charles and Princess Diana even mingled with some of Hollywood's big names. Including them was LAFC supporter and co-owner Will Ferrell, with the pair having been seen enjoying a conversation in the VIP box.

The royal, who officially stepped back from his duties to the crown in 2021, was spotted several times during and after the game. After Miami's opening goal went in curtesy of Facundo Farias, he was left aghast and seemed to almost be caught in prayer.
Whether this was due to the drama of the game itself or the brilliance on show from both sides remains to be seen. There is no doubting the contributions of Messi in the win, though, as he led Vice City to victory with two assists, including one for a fellow former Barcelona icon.

Ex-Spain captain Jordi Alba joined the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner in Florida this summer and got on the scoresheet for the first time for his new team. It was a goal made in Catalonia, as Sergio Busquets started the move before Messi provided an inch-perfect assist for the Camp Nou legend.
After the match, Prince Harry could not help but try and catch a glimpse of the Argentine legend first hand as he was spotted again following the match. Asked to give a message for Messi, he could not help but give a jovial response, telling the superstar to 'put it in the net!'.

The victory for Miami means that they now have an outside chance of pulling off a miraculous late-season surge for the playoffs.
The away win over LAFC puts them on 25 points after 25 games, leaving them eight points off DC United in the final playoffs slot.

"The group is growing more," said Messi post-game. "I’ve been saying it since the beginning of all of this, we were lucky to get in a tournament and get to a final.
“Now, we’re going to look to hit the objective of being among the best eight to try and win the league. This is the way. We continue growing and obviously winning provides a lot of confidence.”
