Helen Flanagan has opened up about her flight from hell - which left her fearing that she may not be able to return home.

The actress was travelling back from Crete, Greece when she experienced the nightmare journey, during which she wore just a swimming costume that resulted in a very chilly journey back. She had gone to the airport not thinking she and her family would be able to get home due to flights in the UK being grounded because of technical difficulties.

Sharing a photo of herself crouched down in a shirt dress with her hair clicked back into a bun holding her son Charlie, Helen wrote: "Flight home was pretty awful... But just glad I got home... Didn't help that I wore a swimming costume on the flight and just a shirt dress I was freezing. I just didn't think I'd get home but thought I'd attempt."

The holiday post came as Helen got candid about dating as a single mum after her shocking split from Scott Sinclair. The former Coronation Street actress shares Charlie and daughters Matilda and Delilah with her ex.

The two of them first got together when she was 19 years old but made the difficult decision to part ways in July last year after almost 15 years.

In a new TikTok video, Helen explained that the two briefly broke up when she was 22 years old but were back together six months later. She also talked about how she started dating nine months after they split for good.

She said she signed up for a celebrity dating app after a trip to Paris with her close friend and her children. She said: "It's really weird when you start dating and you've been with someone for 13 years. And you're totally out of touch... Like, the last time I had been on a date I was 19 years old."

Helen went on to talk about someone she had a "really good connection" with on the app. She said: "He made me feel really beautiful. He made me feel confident and it was really nice but it wasn't just that as we also had a really great connection and we've become really good friends which is nice."
