Cassie collapses
Soap watchers will recall Tyrone Dobbs' life was turned upside down recently after Cassie showed up in Weatherfield, revealing she was his mum. Evelyn had kept the news from grandson Tyrone in a bid to protect him due to Cassie's drug addiction and recently helped her daughter get clean away from the cobbles. Tyrone has been left furious over the lies and last week he let Cassie stay with him so he can get to know her better.
In upcoming scenes, Cassie arrives at the garage for her first day at work, to which Tyrone thanks Kevin for giving her a chance. However, it's not long until Dean approaches demanding drug money to which Cassie promises to pay him by the end of the day and hisses at him to go.
However, Dean's appearance doesn't go unnoticed by Abi thanks to her own past drug addiction days and she wonders what is going on. Things go from bad to worse when Cassie refuses to go on lunch and Abi catches Cassie helping herself to the petty cash. With Tyrone and Evelyn about to appear, Cassie begs Abi not to say anything – but will she agree?
Corrie's Sue Cleaver says I'm A Celebrity stint helped her to push boundariesLater in the week, Cassie offers to help Tyrone pick up Ruby’s new boots in time for her party and he reluctantly hands her £80 with Evelyn left wary. And it's not long until Cassie meets Dean on a street corner and pops several of the pills he’s just sold her. Things go from bad to worse when Jack and Ruby’s party starts with no sign of Cassie.
And it's not long until Michael lets slip how he saw a bloke roughing up Cassie last week while Abi is forced to admit that Dean’s a drug dealer that Cassie owed money to and she caught her trying to steal the petty cash. Tyrone is left horrified as the party scour the streets in search of Cassie. Eventually, Hope yells that she’s found her as Cassie is seen slumped on the pavement, clearly having overdosed, to which they call an ambulance.
Later in the week, Abi suggests to Cassie she should join her at the support group as it’s the only way she’ll ever get clean. When Cassie asks Tyrone to go with her, he finds it difficult to refuse. However, at the support group, Cassie lies, telling them how her mother, Evelyn, kicked her out, she turned to prostitution and ended up on drugs. Tyrone is left heartbroken to hear Cassie, unaware it's lies, and later asserts that he’s disgusted with Evelyn and he intends to confront her.
Character return
Coronation Street spoilers have confirmed Courtney Vance's return storyline and revealed that she will be back on the cobbles next week. It comes as fans had been left confused over Courtney's whereabouts after predicting she could be involved in a huge upcoming Rovers Return twist. Viewers will recall that Courtney made her cobbles debut in July, alongside husband Darren Vance, and Courtney soon found herself caught up in a steamy affair with Aadi Alahan.
However, Courtney hasn't been on the cobbles for a while after heading on a three-week Caribbean cruise with Darren. Yet this all changes next week when Courtney returns and immediately continues her affair with Aadi. In upcoming scenes, Courtney suggests an afternoon tryst, leaving Aadi torn as he explains that he’s got a meeting with Darren and Dev.
Later, Aadi attends the meeting but when Darren starts quizzing him about his love life, a guilty Aadi wishes the ground would swallow him up. Could Darren be onto his affair with his wife or will a sheepish Aadi confess all?
Max stunned by Lauren betrayal
Max Turner starts his first day of college but later lies to ex Lauren Bolton, making out he’s in college all day before heading to the precinct with Sabrina. However, Max's lie is soon exposed as a deflated Lauren watches from a distance. Later, Lauren attempts to wind Sabrina up by making out that she and Max are an item. Max then has to insist to Sabrina that’s not the case.
Things go from bad to worse when later, while alone in the salon, Lauren trashes the place in a fit of rage. Later in the week, David lays the law down with Max, telling him that since he refuses to go to college, he can start as an apprentice hairdresser. Max then lets himself into the salon and is horrified to find the place trashed.
It's not long until Lauren admits that she trashed the place in fit of temper. Max and Lauren then attempt to clean the salon, where he promises to cover for her. Yet their plan is thwarted when David and Maria clock the broken mirror. Later, in the café, Lauren apologises to Roy for missing her shift. However they’re interrupted by a police officer who announces that he’s arresting her on suspicion of causing criminal damage as Lauren's heart sinks.
