Man Utd transfer round-up as Ten Hag makes four signings - and Greenwood leaves
Manchester United fans experienced perhaps their busiest ever transfer deadline day - as FOUR players joined Erik ten Hag's squad.
Goalkeeper Altay Bayindir, midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, and defenders Jonny Evans and Sergio Reguilon all completed late moves to Old Trafford. United fans are delighted to sign Amrabat, but it's fair to say they are indifferent about the other three transfers.
In terms of outgoings, Mason Greenwood's future has been resolved... for the time being at least. He's joined Getafe on loan. Harry Maguire is still a United player after failing to secure a deadline day transfer, with all eyes now on the January window.
Here are the main headlines from United's deadline day...
Sofyan Amrabat

Marcel Sabitzer completes Man Utd transfer after last-minute deadline day dashAmrabat's season-long loan move to Old Trafford was confirmed just 15 minutes before the 11pm deadline, with United paying Fiorentina a €10million (£8.6m) loan fee for his services. The Morocco international, 27, was Ten Hag's first-choice midfield target.
United have the option to make Amrabat's move permanent at the end of the season for €25m (£21.4m), but that's not an obligation. Amrabat, who impressed at last year's World Cup in Qatar, previously played under Ten Hag at Dutch side Utrecht.
"It is a huge honour to become a Man Utd player," said Amrabat on signing. "I’ve had to be patient for this moment but I’m someone who always listens to my heart and now I am representing the club of my dreams. I am a passionate player; I want to bring that energy to the squad, and I will put everything into every action I take for the team.
"I know exactly how Erik ten Hag likes to work and what he needs from his players. His coaching and guidance developed me so much as a player earlier in my career. I know that he will help to bring out the best of my abilities so that I can help the group to be successful this season."
Jonny Evans
As expected, Evans signed a one-year contract with United on deadline day. The Northern Ireland international, who made 198 appearances for the Red Devils during his first-spell at the club, has returned to Old Trafford after impressing Ten Hag in pre-season.
Evans started training with United after being released by Leicester in June. He did enough to earn a spot on the club's tour of the United States, but it's taken Ten Hag a while to decide on whether to offer him a full-time gig. That decision was made on Friday.
"I am delighted to join Man Utd, a place which has always felt like home," said Evans. "This club and the fans have shaped me as a player and as a person since I was 15 years old, and I am delighted to be back where it all began as part of this talented squad.
"I’ve really enjoyed working under the manager and his coaching staff since the start of pre-season, and I’m looking forward to helping this group achieve success together at this fantastic football club."
Sergio Reguilon
Injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia forced Ten Hag to sign a new left-back on deadline day. The United boss decided to bring in Reguilon from Premier League rivals Tottenham, with the Spain international, 26, agreeing a season-long loan deal.
The move has divided United fans, as Reguilon struggled to make an impact at Tottenham and was deemed surplus to requirements by manager Ange Postecoglou. Yet the experienced defender will provide Ten Hag with some much-needed cover.
Man Utd deadline day live updates as Sabitzer completes loan move"In life you have to be ready for everything and the chance to represent this great club with such an illustrious history is one that I could not turn down," said Reguilon.
"Having spoken to the manager, I know what he needs from me, and I am ready to play my part in helping the team to achieve success. I know that I can contribute to Man Utd this season; I am ready to fight for this group and show everyone my qualities."
Altay Bayindir
United's first signing of deadline day was goalkeeper Bayindir, who completed a £4.3m move from Fenerbahce. The Turkey international, who has kept 53 clean sheets during his career, has signed a four-year contract with the option of a further 12 months.
Bayindir, 25, will replace Dean Henderson at Old Trafford after the Englishman's move to Crystal Palace. Bayindir said: "It is a huge honour to join Man Utd and become the first Turkish player to represent this incredible club.
"I have a passion for success, and I will give everything to help this special group of players to achieve our ambitions. I cannot wait to start working with such an experienced goalkeeping unit. We will support each other and drive high standards every day so that each of us is ready to perform whenever called upon."
Mason Greenwood
Greenwood has left United, but only on loan. The England international, 21, joined Getafe in a surprise deadline day deal. Getafe are paying just a fraction of his wages and have not paid a loan fee, with the move leaving the door open for an Old Trafford return.
United released a statement on Friday night. It read: "Mason Greenwood has signed for LaLiga side Getafe on a season-long loan, subject to international clearance. The move enables Greenwood to begin to rebuild his career away from Man Utd.
"The club will continue to offer its support to Mason and his family during this period of transition."
