Arsenal transfer round-up after Mikel Arteta works to trim squad on Deadline Day
It was a quiet transfer deadline day for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta, with the Gunners having wrapped up their business earlier in the window.
Arteta focused on outgoings on Friday, with Arthur Okonkwo among those to head out through the exit door of the Emirates Stadium. Though Arsenal were linked with a late move for Eric Garcia, the Barcelona star opted to join Girona on loan.
It is little surprise that the Gunners were not one of the big players on deadline day, though Arteta has successfully moved out the deadwood in his squad. Here, Mirror Football rounds up the big stories from Arsenal's deadline day.
Wrexham complete Arsenal swoop
Wrexham pulled off a late deadline day move to bring in Arthur Okonkwo from Arsenal. The Gunners academy product will replace Ben Foster as the Dragons' first-choice keeper after the Englishman recently retired.
The Welsh club have now moved to replace him, convincing 21-year-old Okonkwo to move to the Racecourse Ground on a season-long loan. And the Gunners star was delighted to complete his move.

Balogun reveals Henry talks
Folarin Balogun has revealed that Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has sent him messages of support since his move to Monaco. The American completed a £40million move to Monaco earlier this week, with Henry quickly getting in touch.
"After we (Reims) played here he contacted me to congratulate me on my game. I knew he had played here and he told me a bit about the club and that it’s a beautiful place," the striker told The Athletic.
"That was it, really. But even after my first training session here (yesterday), he texted to say congratulations on the move. It’s a good feeling to have the support of someone like him."

Arteta makes Smith Rowe plan clear
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has insisted Emile Smith Rowe is still part of his plans, despite the midfielder not starting a league game for more than a year. He was linked with a late move to Chelsea, but Arteta has now confirmed the Englishman still has a role to play at the Emirates.
"Obviously, I had a conversation with him and it's important to understand where he is. It was always going to be tricky the first three or four weeks. Not just for us, but for all of the clubs where you see all the rumours and all the players who are not playing, they are unhappy not just in this country but in every country," he said.
"We have just one game per week for a month. Everyone comes to the new season with huge aspirations and there are not minutes for everybody and September will be very different."
