Corrie confirms new owner of Rovers Return as pub staff fear for their jobs

Coronation Street's Rovers Return Inn has been facing an uncertain future recently and Friday's episode saw another twist for the iconic boozer.

During the latest episode, Henry Newton told pub staff that his father intends to sell the brewery but he’s doing everything he can to stop it, which left the likes of Jenny Connor and Daisy Midgeley fearing for their future.

Later in the episode, Henry had to break the sad news that there was nothing he could do to stop the sale and Waterfords now own Newton & Ridley, therefore are the new owners of the pub. Things then went from bad to worse when a member of Waterfords team showed up at the premises, catching everyone off guard, as the staff feared for their jobs.

However, the member of staff was charmed by Jenny and declared after an inspection of the pub: "We like to keep the character of the original as much as we can although we do love a quote on the chalkboard, just to inspire the punters!" To which Jenny reassured her staff: "I think we're going to be alright!" although pointed out that nothing was certain.

Although a worried Jenny might want to look closer to home as she unwittingly let a serial killer move into the premises later on Friday night. Jenny has recently pursued a relationship with Stephen Reid, who murdered her fiancé Leo Thompkins, the latter's father Teddy and Rufus Donahue.

Stephen has also attempted to kill Elaine Metcalfe, secretly spiked Carla Connor with LSD and even forged a paternity letter for his niece Sarah Barlow — to name a few of his evil schemes!

After Elaine's son, Tim Metcalfe, told Stephen that his mother is selling her flat and wants him out, the cobbles killer was left furious about being made homeless. Stephen then opened up to Jenny, who suggested he move into the B&B room at the Rovers.
