Corrie Dom's true intentions 'sealed' in sinister twist after cryptic clue

Coronation Street fans have predicted an upcoming sinister twist involving Eliza's estranged dad Dom on the cobbles.

Fans will recall that Eliza was recently reunited with her dad on the hit ITV soap for the first time since birth after tracing him through social media. At first, Eliza's protective grandfather and guardian Stu was horrified to see Dom with Eliza as he had no idea who he was.

After learning he was Eliza's dad, Stu wasn't sure Dom was really the man he claimed to be, leading to the newcomer showing him a picture of himself, Bridget and his baby daughter from when she was born. Dom explained that he hadn't seen her for so long and was thrilled to be reunited with her after years apart.

Earlier this week, Stu was hellbent on proceeding with legal action in a bid to stop him getting access to his daughter but had a change of heart when Dom insisted he only wants what’s best for Eliza and a chance to get to know his little girl.

On Friday, Stu and Eliza met Dom in the precinct to which Dom suggested they all get some ice cream. However, Dom made out that he had forgotten his wallet to which Eliza let slip that Stu is "minted" so he can pay with Dom's ears pricking up as he asked how.

Viewers will recall that Stu's daughter and Eliza's mother Bridget was sent to prison over a historic crime. Stu had been wrongly imprisoned for the very same crime years earlier, only for it to emerge his daughter was the real killer. Due to the wrongful imprisonment, Stu received a whopping £200,000 compensation. However, with Dom now knowing that Stu is "minted" fans think he could secretly be after his money in an upcoming twist.

Taking to social media, one person said: "Eliza's dad playing the 'I forgot my wallet' card! #Corrie", a different account put: "'He’s minted now' - not something you want revealed to someone who supposedly forgot their wallet #Corrie," while another fan added: "Oooo, wrong move Eliza, bragging that your grandad is minted. Might've just created a way for your dad to take advantage #Corrie."
