Corrie star teases devastating Dom twist as true plan exposed after discovery
The truth about Coronation Street newcomer Dom could be exposed very soon, as Stu Carpenter is left stunned by a confession in the coming weeks.
Stu was recently left torn on the ITV soap, when he discovered his granddaughter Eliza had secretly made contact with her estranged father, Dom. After secretly meeting up with him, she was forced to tell her guardian Stu the truth about who Dom was.
It emerged that Dom had not been a part of Eliza's life since she was a baby, and now the father and daughter were keen to reconnect. Stu wasn't sure though, especially after speaking with his daughter, Eliza's mother, Bridget about the situation. Bridget, who remains in prison for a historic murder, warned Stu not to let Dom back into Eliza's life.
Since then the two men have clashed over Eliza, and Eliza isn't happy with her grandfather for possibly putting a stop to her seeing her dad. What Eliza doesn't know though is that Dom might be up to no good, and upcoming scenes will see Stu make a worrying discovery.
After initial scenes see Dom curious about Stu being "loaded", according to Eliza, scenes beyond this will show Dom making an alarming admission - and it certainly shows his true colours. Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Stu actor Bill Fellows revealed the moment his character realises Dom "is a wrong'un".
Corrie's Sue Cleaver says I'm A Celebrity stint helped her to push boundariesDiscussing scenes to air next month which see Dom and Stu supporting Eliza in hospital after an accident, he told us: "While she's in the hospital I'm with him on my own, and we have a serious chat about things. He implies to Stu that if he gives him £10,000 to clear his credit card bill he will disappear out of Eliza's life, which he denies later.
"Stu is like no chance! The thing is he implies it he doesn't actually say it, and so Stu does tell Alya but he won't tell Eliza even though it's a great opportunity for him to tell her, especially because she wants to go and live with him. But that sets the ball rolling you know, saying 'give me £10k and I'll disappear'. If he was ever gonna change his mind on Dom, then that's the moment where he thinks, you're a wrong'un."
On keeping Dom's true colours from Eliza, Bill told us: "He doesn't want to hurt her because how devastated would she be if he was to tell her? Dom says he loves her but that he didn't imagine he would be looking after her all the time, and now she wants to live with him.
"That's the kind of person he is. I don't think he's a horrible person but he's so casual and doesn't understand how to deal with Eliza. She gets upset over wanting to live with Dom and she basically disappears, so Stu wakes up the next morning and she's gone.
"Stu thinks Dom has come and taken her but it's not true, she's actually freely gone to Dom. It leads to a big confrontation between them and Dom is basically like, if you're not gonna give me that money I'll make sure you suffer. He says she doesn't wanna be with you and all that, but he's making him suffer."
On how far Stu will go to protect Eliza and get her back, as Eliza decides to stay with Dom, he added: "I think there are issues later on where he will go all the way to protect her. Whatever happens between Stu and Dom, he will do the right thing and what is best for his granddaughter, whatever happens in the end whether it be this year or next year. He's absolutely die for her."
But could Stu end up exposing Dom's intentions? Bill told us: "I'm not too sure what is happening, but I hope so. There's moments like when Dom is leaving the room, you see him smiling because he likes getting Stu in trouble, and by not giving him the money he is making his life difficult. Dom is enjoying it, and if Stu had given him the money he would be gone. He's hopeful he will be rumbled."
