Katie Price recalled the moment she thought TV's Ant and Dec were pulling her leg when police officers arrived at her front door. During her marriage with Peter Andre, the now mum-of-five was stunned to find plain-clothes policemen at her home.

The former glamour model told the story to Jamie Laing on his Private Parts podcast, admitting she was used to crazy fans pulling pranks or telling stories. She remembered the moment she was getting ready to head out with Pete one night.

"Peter went, Oh Kate the police are here,' and I said, 'Tell them to come back later we're going for a curry'," she recalled. "He said, 'They said it's pretty serious, come down.' They weren't in uniform. So I said, 'How do I know you're really the police?'"

Katie recalled: "I phone (her manager) Clare and said we've got police officers here and they reckon they've got something serious to tell us. I thought it was Ant and Dec doing a prank on us." She was later told it was something extremely serious.

She went on: "We're in the room and they went, 'Right, our intelligence tell us there is a group...' They showed us some pictures, and I said, 'I don't know them.' But apparently they had been meeting up in the supermarket and they were going to create a car accident to get the kids."

It comes after, earlier in the show, Katie made a sad admission, claiming that therapy has led her to the realisation that men are the 'destroyer' in her life. She went back into her past and said her failed marriages were partly her own fault for being too 'impulsive' as she continues her search for 'Mr Perfect'.

"This is the trouble, and even with in therapy I've realised, men are my destroyer in life," she admitted. The Pricey has been previously married three times, first to her I'm A Celeb co-star Peter Andre, second to cage-fighter Alex Reid and third, stripper Kieran Hayler.

"I just want that perfect... I'm such a family girl," Katie revealed. "I just want to be married, settled and get on with my career. But if you look at my past... they haven't really... and part of it's my fault, being impulsive and marrying... because I'm searching for that perfect... there's no such thing as perfect."
