Joe Swash says he and Stacey 'work hard' as he slams lavish holiday criticism

Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash have spent the summer holidays enjoying precious time with their family on a lavish getaway but, TV personality Joe has revealed to the Mirror why he sometimes chooses a staycation over a trip abroad while addressing the backlash they've recently received.
In an exclusive interview, Joe said: "We're in the public eye so you've got to take the rough with the smooth and not everyone is going to agree with us. We work really hard and we try to take our kids on holiday. We only work hard so we can spend more time and do more things with our family. People are going to have a go but it's fine they're allowed their opinion and we take it with a pinch of salt."
The couple splashed out more than £4,000 on a luxurious family holiday to Turkey as they spent quality time with their gorgeous brood Zachary, 15, Leighton, 11, Rex, 4, Rose, one, and six-month-old Belle. The Regnum Carya also hosted A-list stars including Jennifer Lopez, who performed at the resort in 2019, and was the choice of world leaders when it hosted the prestigious G-20 summit in 2015. But some aren't impressed at how Stacey and Joe chose to spend their well-earned cash.

Some of Stacey's followers criticised her for "not living in the real world anymore." One commented: "Sorry Stacy but an average family could not afford this hotel you are very lucky to be able to afford this." Others even went as far as to 'price up' the holiday, with many saying they wouldn't be able to afford it, others defended the star before she responded herself. In an Instagram story post, Stacey appeared to bite back as she posted a family snap.
She wrote: "I'll do a little holiday Q&A while I'm on my way to work tomorrow night so feel free to ask away" before she added: "If me sharing our holiday doesn't make you feel good then unfollow or just mute me or something. I love coming on here and sharing things so much and I love out community on here.

"All I ever want is to take you on the adventure with us and hopefully make you smile along the way." She continued to post more photos after sending out the message. As well as enjoying luxury trips abroad, Joe revealed his excitement at planning staycations, including Haven holiday parks, as he opened up on wanting to take his children on holidays similar to the ones he enjoyed with his grandparents.
Joe said: "I have such great fond memories of being at a caravan site with my nan and grandad. We'd go three, four times a year and I loved it. We try to do it with our kids, we go away on holiday abroad but we do try and get down to the caravan sites as much as we can because they love it and I've got such fond memories so I want to try and replicate that for our kids."
Joe tested out the brand-new activities and facilities to celebrate the relaunch of the newly named Haven Kent Coast as he revealed its proximity to Pickle Cottage means he's looking forward to showing off the revamp to Stacey.

He continued: "I love going abroad with the kids and the kids love it but whenever we plan a holiday abroad I go into a cold sweat. I think, 'Oh no. Five kids...airport... And it gets even worse if there's a long haul flight. As much as we love it and the kids love it, it is stressful, that's why I do love going to the caravan especially Haven Kent Coast it's around the corner from me, an hour away.
"For me and Stacey, it's so handy we can chuck the kids in the car and within an hour we're at the caravan site and the one at Kent Coast has had a huge investment – it's got a brand new adventure village, Yacht club, entertainment. It's got everything you could ever want as a kid so for me and Stacey it's a godsend."
Joe headed to Haven Kent Coast, formerly Haven Allhallows Leisure Park, to test out the adrenaline-packed activities – including a 6m jump – and to reveal the new name to thousands of holiday makers. The transformation, which follows an £18 million investment into park upgrades, places Haven as the premier British staycation provider, and ensures that everyone has an unforgettable holiday experience.
