Erik ten Hag provides Rasmus Hojlund injury update ahead of Man Utd vs Arsenal
Rasmus Hojlund is ready to make his Manchester United debut against Arsenal this weekend.
Hojlund, signed from Atalanta for £72million, has been carrying an injury, but United boss Erik ten Hag said the 20-year-old forward is ready to start at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday. “We had a good training week and on Saturday we have the final training,” said Ten Hag. “He's doing well so he will be available.
“I think he's ready to start. For every player there is a big spotlight. At Manchester United you have to perform, in every position, for every player.”
United have completed the signing of Tottenham left-back Sergio Reguilon on a season-long loan, with a break clause in January. Reguilon trained with United on Friday morning and is expected to start at left-back against the Gunners.
“He is here, he trained, yes,” said Ten Hag. “To play on Sunday? Potentially, yes. He is a very experienced player, he's played for big clubs, played a lot of games in La Liga and the Premier League.
Marcel Sabitzer completes Man Utd transfer after last-minute deadline day dash“So he has a very good background and can play very intense football, so we are happy. We had a problem with Luke Shaw injured and Tyrell Malacia injured, so we covered it very well in an emergency situation.
“I think we've done good business, we constructed a strong squad and we're ready for the fight.” United No.1 keeper Andre Onana has declared his intention to go back playing for Cameroon, which could see him miss January if they make the African Cup of Nations.
Ten Hag said: “I know everything about it, of course we spoke about it. We are in good contact with Andre. We are on the same page. We know how we constructed the squad and can deal with it, if we need to.”
