Gogglebox star shares why family quit after just three series in dig at show

Former Gogglebox star Joe Baggs has given some insight into his family's very short stint on the show, admitting there's a 'good reason' he didn't stick around.
Baggs found fame on the Channel 4 show in 2020 alongside his parents Terry and Lisa and younger brother George. However, after just three series the Baggs family decided to cut walk away with Joe saying he didn't want to be stuck on his sofa forever.
In a subtle dig at the series, Joe said he could not imagine himself sat at home 'eating takeaways' for the rest of his life. The star - who has launched his own podcast since leaving - says he and his younger bro thought the talents were better suited elsewhere.

Speaking on The Useless Hotline podcast, Joe explained: "There is a reason why there's not many young people on there. It's because we're in this new age of social media that me and George love so much.
"I couldn't see myself just coming home every week and eating a takeaway and doing that for the rest of my life. There's so much more I wanted to do, that's why we ended up leaving."

When the family chose to leave back in 2022 they shared a statement. It read: "After 3 incredible seasons on Channel 4’s Gogglebox we have taken the decision to leave the show. We have loved every second of being part of the Gogglebox family and it’s truly been the opportunity of a lifetime.
"With lots of exciting opportunities approaching us all, we just couldn’t commit to filming another series, but are so grateful for the opportunity. Thank you for all your support whilst we have been on the show and over on TikTok. We hope that you’re as excited as we are for what’s coming next!"
The Baggs family joined the show after producers found Joe’s TikToks, where he shares comedy videos and updates on his day-to-day life with his family to his followers.
Joe and his brother other star in TikToks together as they pull hilarious pranks on their parents. Since leaving Gogglebox, Joe and George have landed their own podcast, Not My Bagg as well as the family launching their own YouTube series.
