Conor McGregor's team had several training sessions cancelled on The Ultimate Fighter when the UFC legend failed to show up.

McGregor recently coached against Michael Chandler on season 31 of the UFC's reality TV show. The Irishman went through a dismal stint by losing seven consecutive fights before finally getting a win to avoid setting an embarrassing record on the show. Brad Katona, a close teammate of McGregor's, went on to win the bantamweight finale of the season at UFC 292 earlier this month.

Kurt Holobaugh, who won the lightweight bracket of the show, has accused McGregor of not being committed to his team throughout the season. Holobaugh said that fighters on Team McGregor often turned up to the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, only for their sessions to be called off.

“He definitely missed a lot,” Holobaugh told Just Scrap Radio about McGregor. “I don’t think he showed up to one weigh-in, I know there were several times where they may have cancelled their practices. I remember sometimes the guys would get all the way to the Apex, our team in a sense enjoyed it when they would go because we loved the hours we had.

“We had 10am and 4pm and they had 12 pm and 6pm, so by the time we would get back to the house just before six, that is when we had time to cook and shower. There weren’t many people in the house, chill in the hot tub. All of a sudden they came back in several times and we thought they were training and they said they canceled it. There were quite of few times Conor didn’t show and Conor canceled practices. I definitely think he could have been way more involved than he was.”

McGregor and Chandler both want to fight at UFC 296 on December 16 but a date for their fight is yet to be announced. Holobaugh has unsurprisingly backed his TUF coach Chandler to win the fight as he thinks McGregor won't be fully committed to training after the way he acted on the reality show.

“After spending a lot of time with Chandler and seeing how he trains, knowing who Conor is and what he is doing, I have to give the edge to my guy Chandler," Holobaugh added. "I think he’s going to want it so much more than Conor is going to want it, either one of them gets the chance to quit, Chandler’s not going to quit but if Conor gets the chance to quit he’s going to want to get out of there and that is when Chandler will finish him off."
