Bayindir reacts to making Man Utd history as Ten Hag secures £4.3m transfer
Altay Bayindir has expressed his pride at becoming the first-ever Turkish player to represent Manchester United following his £4.3million switch from Fenerbahce.
Bayindir, 25, follows Andre Onana into Old Trafford to complete the club's goalkeeping reshuffle. Onana was lured to Manchester from Inter Milan in a £47m deal to replace David de Gea, while Bayindir will become the club's new No.2 in the wake of Dean Henderson's move to Crystal Palace.
The Turkish international clocked up over 100 appearances across three years at Fenerbahce and couldn't hide his delight after getting a transfer to the Premier League across the line following weeks of speculation.
Bayindir told Manutd.com on Friday morning: “It is a huge honour to join Manchester United and become the first Turkish player to represent this incredible club. I have a passion for success, and I will give everything to help this special group of players to achieve our ambitions.
“I cannot wait to start working with such an experienced goalkeeping unit. We will support each other and drive high standards every day so that each of us is ready to perform whenever called upon.”

“Having consistently performed at a high level in a strong European league, he has the qualities to support us in achieving our ambitions across all competitions this season and beyond.”
Bayindir's arrival marks the start of what is expected to be a busy deadline day at Old Trafford. Erik ten Hag remains hopeful of securing two further signings with Sergio Reguilon and Sofyan Amrabat in talks over loan moves.
Reguilon is expected to put pen-to-paper imminently on a short-team switch until January, while negotiations continue with Fiorentina in a bid to strike an agreement for Amrabat.
The Morocco international has been linked with the Red Devils for months but United's opening proposal was rejected. United are hoping to bring Amrabat in on loan after spending in excess of £170m this summer, however, Fiorentina are unlikely to agree to such a deal unless an obligation to purchase the playmaker permanently is included.
