The UEFA Europa League draw takes place on Friday, with three English sides in the draw all hoping to earn European silverware this season.

Liverpool are in the competition for the first time since 2015/16, with their fifth placed finish in the Premier League last season meaning they will compete in the second tier of Europe's elite. They will be joined by Brighton, who finished sixth last season, earning their first ever European campaign under Roberto De Zerbi.

West Ham complete a trio of English sides, with their Europa Conference League win last season securing qualification for a competition they reached the semi-finals of in 2021/22. All three will be hopeful of securing silverware, with Liverpool favourites for success following their rich history of winning continental competitions.

Big names from around Europe will join them in the draw, with the likes of 2021 champions Villarreal among the dangerous names who complete the draw. Jose Mourinho's Roma will also compete, with their final loss to Sevilla last season still fresh in the memory. The final will be held in Dublin, twelve years after it was last hosted in the city, with Porto sealing victory under Andre Villas Boas in 2011..

The likes of Bayer Leverkusen, Sporting Lisbon and Atalanta will all provide a threat, with the prize of a spot in the Champions League on offer for the winners of the competition. The group stages will conclude in December, before a host of third-placed finishers from the Champions League group stages will join them for the knockout stages.
