David Warner was searched by security after his testicles got him into trouble at Los Angeles Airport.
The Australian cricket star was passing through the airport with his wife Candice after attending the recent wedding of actor Dominic Purcell and Miley Cyrus' mother Tish Cyrus. Candice got through the security without incident, but David was shocked to be stopped and searched after an adverse result from one of the machines.
“So David went through the one first where you walk through and it started beeping,” Candice recalled on Aussie radio station Triple M. “So they then ushered him to the full body scanner. He puts his arms up and it beeps again.
"When you walk through, there's a big computer screen attached to it. All of a sudden, his balls lit up. There is a big body image of David, and like cricket, a hot spot on his balls.
"And I was in shock, the people around were laughing, David was in shock. I'd never seen this about my husband, I didn't know he had hot balls.
England star George Williams opens up on testicular cancer mis-diagnosis"So the security man came up to him and said, 'look we are going to have to sort this out'. But I don't understand what is going on downstairs and what is going on with my husband's package."
Dr Sam, Triple M's medical expert, then suggested that David might have had a piercing his wife wasn't aware of which triggered the alarm. “No, no, there's no piercings,” Candice laughed.
David and Candice were eventually allowed through and managed to fly back to Sydney. They had been in LA for the wedding of Aussie actor Purcell to Miley Cyrus' mother Tish.
The ceremony took place in Malibu, California, on Saturday, August 19 and was attended by singer Miley Cyrus and two of Tish’s children, Brandi Cyrus, 36, Trace Cyrus, 34. The marriage comes a year after Tish filed for divorce from her husband of nearly 30 years, Billy Ray Cyrus.
Candice shared photos from the wedding on his Instagram account, showing herself and David alongside Purcell. “Oh what a night!!! Congratulations @dominicpurcell & @tishcyrus on the most magical wedding. We love you,” she wrote in the caption.
The couple are close friends with the Aussie actor, who attended their wedding at Terrara House Estate on the New South Wales South Coast in 2015.
Warner was rumoured to be considering retirement from cricket after competing in the Ashes over the summer. The 36-year-old opening batter played in all five Tests as the series finished 2-2, ensuring Australia retained the urn. Despite speculation, he is yet to announce a decision on his future in the game.
