The US Open has more than a trophy and prize money this year. The competition established in 1881 has a long, rich tradition with at least 30 records that could be broken in this tournament.
Players like Novak Djokovic, who has three US Open wins among his 23 Grand Slam titles, have already rewritten the history books, holding several impressive records in the tournament, from appearances in the finals to Grand Slam wins. However, the Serbian has a chance to extend an array of records.
Poland's young phenom, Iga Swiatek, leads the women's side with the potential to extend or break at least four records. At 23-years-old. Swiatek has the potential to achieve these feats as the youngest in the competition's history.
Over 30 records are on the line for Djokovic and other players, including box office names such as Coco Gauff, Carlos Alcaraz, Iga Swiatek, and Andy Murray. Murrary could become the first British player in the US Open era to win 200 Grand Slam matches.

- Become the first player in the Open Era to win multiple men's singles titles before age 21.
