'I knew I was next to my future husband an hour into flight - now we're married'
A couple who met while sitting next to each other on a plane got engaged eight months later.
Travelling lovers Sasha Ebrahimi, 25, and Daniel Gutierrez, 35, were both London bound when romance blossomed - with Sasha saying she knew she had found her husband just "one hour into the flight".
Sasha was travelling to the UK from her native Colorado in April of 2022 - however she had been spotted earlier at Denver International Airport by Daniel - who said he was instantly struck by her beauty. A happy accident into the form of a seating mishap meant Sasha would then go on to be reallocated a seat alongside Daniel.
Sasha recalled initially hoping she could stick with her original seat, before realising she was being sat next to Daniel - saying she then thought, "this is going to be great". The pair instantly struck up conversation on the first leg of their journey, which included a stopover at Reykjavík, Iceland.

Sasha added: "As soon as I got off the plane, I texted my friend Claire and said, 'I just met my husband'."

"I think it was his genuineness … He was very calm. I am a very chaotic person. It was easy for us to connect. And I think that was the biggest thing, like I didn't feel like I was trying too hard. The conversation just flowed naturally." Sasha later asked Daniel for his number, claiming she wanted to text him Europe recommendations having studied and travelled there previously, while admitting it was really a "ploy" to stay in contact.
After making it to the UK, Sasha was disappointed she hadn't heard from him - but then elected to send the first text herself - saying she had "butterflies" when he messaged back. Incredibly, the pair later inadvertently met on Edinburgh's Royal Mile Street.
Sasha described seeing a large crowd as she left her hotel, before going on to spot Daniel in the street as the people dispersed. The pair instantly knew this was their silver screen moment and they ran into one another's arms for a kiss.
Sasha and Daniel got engaged eight months after meeting on a holiday to the Dominican Republic (TheKnot)They went on to meet again in Amsterdam and, by the time they returned to the United States, going on to become "inseparable" by the end of their trip as they returned to America. Describing their bond on their wedding site, they write: "Sasha and Daniel gained quite the reputation as the traveled around the country together. From the Rocky Mountains to the South to the Pacific Northwest and everything in between, Sasha and Daniel continued to strengthen their bond."
After returning home, they quickly knew they needed to be together and they'd also moved into a home in the town of Lone Tree, Colorado. Daniel went on to proposed beachside over a romantic dinner, while the couple were vacationing in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic for Sasha's birthday.
