Strictly Come Dancing 's Zara McDermott has issued a warning to her future pro partner ahead of the hit BBC One dance series. Zara, 26, is one of 15 confirmed celebrities taking to the dance floor next month and has made history as the first-ever former Love Island star to take part.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday to share a sweet video with fans, thanking them for their support, Zara said: "Hi, everyone! Obviously, the news is out and I’m gonna be on Strictly Come Dancing this year, ahh! I honestly wasn’t expecting such an incredible, overwhelming reaction. This is probably one of the biggest things I will ever do in my entire life."
Zara then updated fans with the Strictly process so far, she said: "We had our first dance masterclass session the other day. We all met each other. We even met the pros which was just amazing. Seeing them dance, I was like: 'Wow!'" She added: "I’m honestly that girl that’s too nervous to even dance in a nightclub at this point, let alone in front of millions of people. What am I doing? But, life is all about pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone, so here I am! So, my next question is, who is my dance partner gonna be? They’ve got their work cut out!"
The documentary maker captioned the video with: "STRICTLY 2023 LETS GO!!! I cannot thank you all enough… and I can’t even contain my excitement!!! I may burst!!!!! p.s. who do you think my dance partner is going to be? And I also wonder which dance I’m going to enjoy most?!" Zara's supportive boyfriend, Sam Thompson, was quick to lead the comments as he said: "Time to fly little goose" with heart emojis.
It comes as the Strictly celebrities were reportedly given ice cream flavours as code names to keep their identities secret ahead of their big reveals. The hit BBC One dance show's 2023 line-up was confirmed earlier this week with the likes of Les Dennis, Zara and Angela Rippon making up the 15 celebrities.
Strictly's Molly Rainford and Tyler West fuel romance rumours while on tourIt has now been claimed that the stars were each given an ice cream flavour as a code name when they first signed up to Strictly in order to keep the line-up, as well as their identity, a secret. According to reports, Les, 69, was "rum and raisin", Nigel Harman was "mango", Adam Thomas was "rocky road" and Krishnan Guru-Murthy was "tutti frutti".

A source told Daily Star : "The celebs were all given code names to keep everything top secret. Execs decided to make them all ice cream flavours as a bit of fun. Everyone loved it.
