Keeping cool at night as temperatures rise can be difficult but a mattress company claims a miracle material can keep sleepers cool without the need for air conditioning.
It may have been a stormy summer for much of the UK but Met Office experts are predicting warmer temperatures on their way from 10th August, with forecasts predicting 24 degrees Celsius after a turbulent few weeks of rain and high winds. The rising temperature means the return of hot and sticky nights but one mattress company says it has solved the problem of night sweats for good.
Emma says its cooling mattresses can help to bring down body temperature and prevent night sweats as the mercury rises thanks to the use of graphite in its mattress foam. Graphite is a soft, heat resistant material that can draw heat from people and disperse it, cooling you down as you sleep.
Experts at the brand say the material has been designed to keep temperatures stable at night. The firm says: "Designed by our Emma sleep experts, with Thermosync Technology, a revolutionary graphite-infused foam, you will feel dry, cool, and relaxed all through the night, ensuring a deep night's sleep and no night-sweats!"
It says shoppers can try the mattress for 200 days, taking them through the end of the summer, and if the mattress does not cool them down they can return it. Shoppers can get 55% off the mattresses here.
Infused mattresses are some of the better-performing cooling mattresses in our Mirror Choice tests. Graphite-infused mattresses do help to disperse heat and they do perform better than memory foam mattresses, which tend to retain heat.
Keep an eye out for gel-infused foam too, which works on the same principles as graphite foam.
Other options include air sprung mattresses or hybrid mattresses which are a combination of layers that consist of memory foam for pressure relief, latex or gel for airflow and temperature control, combined with a spring system that will give you that much-needed support. These are ideal for people who sweat at night.
