Newcastle's Bruno Guimaraes has hailed Fabinho as "the skinny one" after his switch to Al-Ittihad was announced.

The Brazilian will leave Liverpool after five years at Anfield to join the Saudi revolution that continues to take place this summer. Fabinho has been a pillar of the success on Merseyside, helping them claim claim Premier League and Champions League success.

His compatriot though seems to have come up with a nickname whilst praising Fabinho on a farewell social media post. A host of Liverpool players have wished him luck whilst Guimaraes commented: "Good luck the skinny one" - no doubt relating to Fabinho's lengthy frame.

The midfielder has been called that during his time at Liverpool, although it is by no means a public nickname. Fabinho has previously detailed how he's picked up a variety of names whilst wearing red - one in particular handed to him by Jurgen Klopp.

He said previously: "The first time I heard 'Dyson' was when I heard Jurgen (Klopp) saying it after a match in which I'd defended really well, sweeping up in the middle of the pitch," he said. "The nickname 'the Lighthouse' was given to me by Pep Lijnders.

"The players usually call me 'Flaco'. 'Flaco' means 'Skinny' (in Spanish). Virgil (van Dijk) started it and now everybody calls me that. Even the coach sometimes calls me that. So, that's the one which is most common here."

Fabinho will get the chance to team up with former Premier League star N'Golo Kante whilst in Saudi. The Frenchman opted to leave Chelsea this summer and join Karim Benzema, who is also at Al-Ittihad after securing an early exit from Real Madrid.

The former Liverpool man penned an emotional message on Instagram after his exit was confirmed, underlining his affection for the club. He wrote: "Today I leave my home. It's been five years wearing this jersey and always with the greatest honor and happiness possible. Since day one at Liverpool, I've been embraced by everyone.

"What I saw inside this club, the relationship between the people there, made me feel like family. In these five years, I grew as a player, as a man, I made dreams come true… With that jersey, I won every title a player can dream of.

"Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup… Thanks to Liverpool, I reached my highest level and played a World Cup. Thanks to Liverpool, I fulfilled my dream of walking into a stadium with my son in my arms. Thanks to Liverpool, I played in the best stadium in the world, with the best atmosphere in the world, which is Anfield.

"Thanks to Liverpool, I lived the biggest match of my life, the comeback against Barcelona, which was only possible thanks to Anfield. That moment will always be in my memory.

"I love what this crowd represents for the club. This love relationship between the club and the fans has always impressed me. And I can say without fear that 'You’ll never walk alone', after that match, alongside our fans, was the most defining moment of my career with Liverpool.

"I say this with a heart full of joy: I love this club. Thank you, Reds, for everything we've experienced together. You will never walk alone."
