FIFA 23 servers down for maintenance - here's when they'll be back online

EA Sports has confirmed that FIFA 23's online servers, and matchmaking, is currently down for maintenance.

Players trying to access FIFA 23 online game modes this morning will have had a nasty surprise, with FIFA 23 servers currently down for maintenance, impacting online matchmaking in Ultimate Team, Pro Clubs, Online Seasons, Online Friendlies and other modes. EA Sports confirmed the FIFA 23 downtime this morning via it's @EASFCDirect account on Twitter, with the publisher confirming that match creation and online services in FIFA 23, FIFA 22, FIFA 21, FIFA 20, FIFA 19 and FIFA 18 are all effected.

Although, we've been able to access both the FIFA 23 FUT Web App and the Companion App this morning, so it seems to be just matchmaking that's been impacted. Here's when FIFA 23 server downtime began and when it will come back online.

FIFA 23 server downtime start time and end time

The FIFA 23 server downtime began today at 5am BST / 12am EDT and will end at 1pm BST / 8am EDT. For those in the PDT time zone, FIFA 23 will be down from 9pm PDT on Thursday evening until 6am PDT on Friday morning. FIFA 23 online servers will be down for at least eight hours worldwide on all platforms including PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Eight hours is significant period of downtime, but EA stated it's due to "scheduled maintenance".

"We have a scheduled maintenance on July 26, 4:00 AM - 12:00 PM UTC. During this time, you may be disconnected or unable to access online services," Read the tweet from @EASFCDirect.

"Match creation will be disabled 30 min prior to the maintenance. Titles impacted: FIFA 18-23 on all platforms."

FIFA 23 server downtime isn't particularly unusual, with the title being down for a couple of hours back in April and more server maintenance also happening back in February. But those periods were only for five and seven hours respectively, so this latest period of downtime is one of the longest we've seen for some time.

EA has recently announced FIFA 23's successor, EA FC 24, which will be the first title in the new EA Sports FC game series, following the publisher's high-profile divorce from FIFA. EA FC 24 will be released later this year, and we've already been able to get hands-on gameplay with the title, following the release of a gameplay deep-dive earlier this month.
