Gary Lineker has been spotted looking cosy on holiday with his ex-wife Danielle Bux - seven years after their split.
The BBC pundit married model Danielle in 2009 before they called time on their relationship in 2016. Despite divorcing, they have remained on very good terms, and spend holidays together with her children.
Since they amicably parted ways, Gary, 62, has been open about the fact that he enjoys spending time with his ex-wife, and he often stays at her home in Los Angeles.
Gary has never shied away from discussing his friendship with Danielle and previously told the Mirror: "We still speak three times a day, we text all the time."
The former Tottenham ace, who shares four sons - George, Harry, Tobias and Angus - with his ex-wife Michelle Cockayne, revealed the reason for his split from Danielle was that he didn't want any more children.
Gary Lineker issues sarcastic response to Chelsea's summer transfer plansHe said that Danielle's "body clock started ticking" and she had an "urge" to have more children. Speaking on Gabby Logan's The Mid-Point podcast, he explained: "In the end, we decided to stay mates and see if she can find someone that really does want another child. That happened and he is a really good friend of mine now. I know it's unusual, but it's a lot better than falling out."
The dad-of-four continued: "Ultimately, she didn't want for me to do something that I didn't really want deep down, and I didn't want to stop her from doing something that she really wanted deep down. We just came to a logical, sensible relationship and it has worked, it's great. We don't argue anymore either."
Danielle first had a child at the age of 22 with ex Adam Willis. The 44-year-old actress went on to have a second daughter in 2017 after starting a relationship with American entertainment lawyer Nate Greenwald, whom she married in 2019.
The two daughters, Ella, 21 and Romy, five, joined Gary and Danielle as they soaked up the sun in Ibiza this week. Speaking to The Sun, a source said: "They looked so relaxed in each other's company.
"They have rewritten the rulebook on how a divorced couple can get on. They clearly still get on well." It comes after the pals spent last Christmas together as part of their 'annual tradition.'
Taking to Instagram, the mother-of-two shared a snap of her ex-husband alongside her eldest lookalike daughter, Ella. Captioning the photo "Our annual Christmas dinner", the pair were seen beaming wrapping up warm in long coats.
"Always a delight," added Gary as he posted the pic to his 1.1 million followers. And when it comes to whether Danielle's current husband has a problem with their close bond, Gary insists he 'never' gets jealous.
“He's not got a jealous bone in his body," Gary previously told Radio Times. "We get on really well. We go out for dinner when I’m in LA. It might be unusual and people might go, 'That's weird' but, frankly, I don't care. What is normal?
"Is it better to get divorced and end up fighting, screaming and shouting? Or is it better to get on if you can?"
