Gary Lineker and his ex-wife Danielle Bux appeared to be in high spirits as they made the most of the warmer weather in Ibiza.

The former husband and wife were married between 2009 and 2016 before they made the decision to split but have remained on amicable terms. As they soaked up the sun, the couple were joined by Danielle's daughters, Ella, 21 and Romy, five.

Since their split, Gary, 62, has publicly praised his former wife and revealed that they still enjoy time with one another and he often stays at her home in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, Danielle stays at his home in London.

After escaping the plunging British temperatures, the former couple kicked back and enjoyed their day on the famous White Island as they topped up their tans. Danielle looked sensational as she rocked a burgundy bikini which showcased her gym-honed figure as it basked in the sun.

Meanwhile, Gary opted to wear a matching coloured t-shirt while completing his look with a pair of stone-coloured shorts as they relaxed on sun loungers. Danielle's youngest daughter, Romy, who she shares with her husband American lawyer Nate Greenwald appeared to be enjoying the sunshine as Danielle shared a snap to Instagram.

Speaking to The Sun, a source said: "They looked so relaxed in each other's company. They have rewritten the rulebook on how a divorced couple can get on. They clearly still get on well."

Gary has never shied away from discussing his friendship with Danielle and previously told the Mirror: "We still speak three times a day, we text all the time." The former Tottenham ace who has four sons, George, Harry, Tobias and Angus to his ex-wife Michelle Cockayne also disclosed that he and Danielle split as he didn't want any more children.

He said that Danielle's "body clock started ticking" and she had an "urge" to have more children. Speaking on Gabby Logan's The Mid-Point podcast, he explained: "In the end, we decided to stay mates and see if she can find someone that really does want another child. That happened and he is a really good friend of mine now. I know it's unusual, but it's a lot better than falling out."

Dad-of-four Gary continued: "Ultimately, she didn’t want for me to do something that I didn’t really want deep down, and I didn’t want to stop her from doing something that she really wanted deep down. We just came to a logical, sensible relationship and it has worked, it's great. We don't argue anymore either."
