Kylian Mbappe's transfer saga this summer has taken a drastic turn with a huge offer from a Saudi Pro League club which could pave the way for the Paris Saint-Germain forward to secure his transfer to Real Madrid. At least five clubs have contacted the Ligue 1 club about the possibility of signing the 24-year-old French international but one offer in Saudi Arabia has caught a lot of attention.

Al-Hilal, who have recently signed former Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly and former Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves, have submitted a world record bid believed to be in the region of £260m as the wantaway player looks to leave the Parisian club this summer. Former AS Monaco player Mbappe has already been left out of the club's pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea which has casted further doubts into the World Cup winner's future at the club.

Relations between Mbappe and PSG have been tense over the last year when Real Madrid tried to sign the forward for a record fee but he decided to stay at his current club. What seemed to be a huge statement of intent turned sour last month when he announced he would not be signing a new contract when his expires at the end of next season allowing him to leave for free.

The new revelation has paved way for bookies William Hill to slice Mbappe's chances of moving over to the Saudi Pro League joining the likes of Crisitiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.

William Hill's spokesperson Lee Phelps said: “Following news of Al-Hilal’s mammoth bid for Kylian Mbappe this morning, we’ve been forced to slash our odds for the French forward to join the Saudi Pro League this summer.

“The PSG star was a 13/2 shot to move to any Saudi Pro League club during the transfer window, but is now just 3/1 after Monday’s reported record-breaking £259m offer.

“Real Madrid still lead the way for the Frenchman’s services in what is shaping to be a two-horse race, but have seen their price drift from 3/10 to 2/5 and will undoubtedly face stubborn competition between now and September.”

PSG have made it clear they do not want to let Mbappe go on a free and so are looking to hear offers. However, according to reports, the Ligue 1 champions believe Mbappe has already signed a permanent deal with Real Madrid already which starts next summer although nothing has been confirmed.
