NFL enthusiasts have slammed Madden 24 after discovering that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, who performed at an MVP level in the 2022 season, will only receive an 88 overall rating.

Hurts is currently ranked as the fifth-best quarterback in the NFL. This places him behind Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, and Lamar Jackson. It is a contrast to him being listed second in last year's NFL MVP rankings. However, Hurts himself wasn't satisfied with last year, which resulted in a Super Bowl loss.

Even though the quarterback's overall rating improved from 71 the previous year, gamers were upset with his overall.

Some questioned what he would have to achieve in his NFL career, beyond a Super Bowl appearance and a second-place MVP finish, to earn the respect they feel he is entitled to.

"Jalen Hurts is a top-3 QB. How do you have Lamar over Hurts when Lamar did not play for most of the season and Hurts toon his team to the Super Bowl, which Josh Allen has not been able to do. Also, Hurts was the MVP runner up," wrote one NFL fan on Twitter.

"I can never take Madden seriously because of the ratings. Jalen Hurts 88? Herbert 87?" questioned another user on the platform.

"I don't normally care about Madden ratings, but Jalen Hurts being an 88 is absolutely ridiculous," wrote a fan account of the QB.

"Jalen Hurts massively disrespected in the Madden ratings. No wonder why Madden has become so bad over the years. They have Dak over Jalen," chimed in another Twitter user.
