Ty Pennington has said he is "happy to be here" after being rushed to an intensive care unit amid a worrying health scare.
The 58-year-old Extreme Makeover star was rushed to hospital just days after attending the premiere for the upcoming Barbie movie in Los Angeles.
Ty had been suffering from a sore throat for weeks, but it turned out to be a large abscess which had grown so big it was "closing off" his airways.
The TV personality took to Instagram on Friday to share some pictures from his hospital bed and update fans on his condition.
"From the red carpet, to the ICU… this last week has been interesting! I'm okay now, still recovering," he began.

"Turns out, that sore throat Ive had for the last month was actually an abscess which had grown so large it was closing off my airway. Next thing I know, I was intubated and flown to the ICU in Denver.
"Wednesday I had surgery and yesterday afternoon I was released from the ICU."
He thanked hospital staff for "taking such great care of me" before warning fans: "A great reminder to LISTEN to your body when it's telling you something #justhappytobehere."
Ty was inundated with support from fans as people wished him a speedy recovery.
"We love you. So happy you are ok! Missed you in Breck but we are so happy you got the care you needed just in time. We all were (and still are) thinking of you and sending the most positive vibes! Speedy recovery brother," one person said.
