F1 commentator reacts brilliantly after snub by Cara Delevingne on grid walk

Sky Sports F1 presenter Martin Brundle delivered a brutal response to Cara Delevingne after she shut down his attempts to have a chat on his grid walk at the British Grand Prix.

Brundle's grid walks have become iconic and the legendary broadcaster attempted to speak with Delevingne as he made his way around the grid at Silverstone. "We've got Cara Delevingne here, we'll see if we can just stand in the way really," he said as he approached the supermodel and actress.

After initially being rebuffed by a member of staff, Brundle persisted: "She doesn't want to talk? But everybody has to talk on the grid. That's the deal now, everybody talks on the grid."

He then asked Delevingne: "Can we have a quick chat? Sky F1, good to see you on the grid." After she said "no", Brundle added: "Well the deal is everybody has to speak on the grid, but you know."

However, Brundle eventually gave up after Delevingne replied: "I can't hear anything. I'm so sorry." As he began to walk in way, he quipped: "Ok, alright, well I'm sure that would have been extremely interesting."

Despite Delevingne's snub, Brundle enjoyed chats with the likes of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, former One Direction member Liam Payne, pop star Sam Ryder and actress Florence Pugh.

Reigning F1 world champion Max Verstappen ultimately won the British Grand Prix, extending his lead at the top of the driver standings to 99 points as he made it six race wins in a row. Home favourites Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton joined him on the podium, finishing second and third respectively.

"We had a terrible start so we need to look into that why it was," Verstappen said after his victory. "Even after that, especially Lando, well both McLarens, were super quick. It took a few laps to pass him but then I could ease out a gap.

"After the Safety Car, on the softest compound round here it was a little bit more tricky for us to keep them alive. Very happy we won again and 11 wins in a row for the team is pretty incredible. But it wasn't straight forward today.

"The [bad start] made it a bit more exciting having to push for it. Lando was very nice to me but he came back at me with the DRS. He did very well today."
