People are only just discovering how to get your meal first on a flight

When you're flying long haul, there are few things more annoying than waiting for what feels like years before you're offered food and drinks - and then you'll inevitably find out there's none left of the option you wanted to go for.
Flights aren't known for having the most scrumptious meals onboard, but unless you've planned ahead, it's often the only option available to you - and also the only way of eating something hot while hurtling through the sky.
Whether you're excited for the meal ahead of not, one thing that is excruciating is the wait while flight attendants make the long, slow walk along the aisle.

However, one flight expert has shared a tip which will make sure you're always served your meal first - and it will also mean you'll get the highest quality meal available. If you didn't know this, it could be a real game changer for if you want your meal over with fast so you can get to sleep.
Victoria Baillie, Skyscanner PR Manager, told Mail Online: "Choose the Asian or vegetarian option on the plane."

While this might seem like a random choice to begin with, there is logic behind it. She continued: "You get fed before anyone else, you avoid anything too greasy and stodgy (helps the jetlag allegedly) and I'm convinced the more niche meals are much better quality as they're made in smaller batches."
A flight attendant has confirmed this Victoria's suspicion - although you don't just have to order "the Asian or vegetarian" option.
Caroline Kneitz, who worked as a flight attendant for Emirates for more than six years, revealed that all those who order special meals will be served first, because this ensures the whole meal service runs smoother.
"If you're sticking to plane food and want your food served early, then all you need to do is order a special meal such as vegan or Kosher, she previously told the publication.
"Special meals, which have to be pre-ordered in advance, are always dished out first. If you're on a night flight getting your meal earlier it's particularly useful as you can get to sleep quicker".
There are plenty of plane knowledge which is handy to know before travelling, such as where to make it more likely you'll be upgraded to First Class.
According to flight attendant Cierra Mistt, you're most likely to be upgraded if you sit in the last row. She said: "Because if we do have to move people for weight and balance purposes, that's where the flight attendants are going to go."
