Teenager found alive after disappearing 8 years ago 'can only say a few words'
A man missing for eight years after disappearing as a teenager has now been found - but can only say a few words, his frantic mother has reported.
Rudy Farias, 25, was reported missing in Houston, Texas, in 2015 but was finally found outside a church last Sunday - sparking delight for his relatives.
He is currently in hospital after he was discovered outside the church unconscious and unresponsive, covered in cuts and bruises and with blood in his hair.
He went missing at the age of 17 while walking his dogs, who made it home without their owner.
His mum, grateful to have him back, said her son was in "bad shape", adding that the family have tried to speak to him but he will only say a few words before going into a fetal position, and she believes he was badly abused and beaten.

Thanking supporters for their help, she warned it would be a long healing journey but is extremely thankful her son has been found alive.
ABC13 spoke to Farias' mother on the phone who said a Good Samaritan called 911 after finding him outside a church, unresponsive in southeast Houston on Thursday.
It's unclear if investigators have had a chance to interview him.
"After 8 long years, Rudy has been located safe," the Texas Center for the Missing tweeted. "Please continue to keep his family in your prayers as Rudy recovers in the hospital."
The disappearance occurred not long after he lost his "best friend" of an older brother die in front of him in a motorcycle accident.
A private investigator told Dateline in 2015: "He watched his best friend die right in front of him. His brother was his best friend in the world. He’s just gone through so much more than anyone his age ever should."
In the wake of Rudy's disappearance, search and recuse non-profit Texas EquuSearch said: "Rudy suffers from depression, PTSD and anxiety. He has attempted suicide in the past.
"It is possible he is disoriented as he has not been taking his medication. Rudy is also asthmatic but is not in possession of his inhaler. According to his mother he is very wary around strangers."
Texas EquuSearch director Tim Miller is one of several people involved in the original search for Rudy.

“How did this happen? We believe in miracles and this certainly was a miracle,” Miller said.

“I can’t even tell you how many times we searched and how many leads and tips came in and they just kind of faded away and now all of a sudden, this.
"In the beginning, we met with the family and detectives out there and we found a backpack. We talked to someone with a catering truck that said they saw him, then there were different possible sightings in different places."
It is still unclear where Rudy has been in the years he was missing, or why he left and Miller added there remained "a lot of questions" that need to be answered.
