Liverpool's transfer window keeps getting better and better after Dominik Szoboszlai's arrival was confirmed on Sunday afternoon.

Liverpool have signed the Hungary international, 22, from RB Leipzig after triggering his £60million release clause. He is the second midfielder to join Jurgen Klopp's squad this summer after Alexis Mac Allister, 24, arrived from Brighton in a £55m deal.

Although the Reds have made a good start to the window, there is still plenty of time to sign more players. James Milner, Naby Keita, Roberto Firmino and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all left Anfield when their respective deals expired last month.

But who is Klopp after? Here are the latest transfer headlines from Merseyside...

Liverpool's Lavia pursuit

Liverpool are seriously interested in signing Romeo Lavia from Championship side Southampton, according to transfer guru Ben Jacobs. Lavia, 19, is a former Manchester City youth player who made his senior debut for Belgium in March.

The teenager impressed for Southampton last season - making 29 Premier League appearances - but is expected to be on the move following their relegation. Liverpool will face competition for his signature, with Arsenal and Chelsea thought to be keen.

Who do you think Liverpool should sign this summer? Let us know in the comments below!

Liverpool will step up their interest in Lavia after signing Szoboszlai and Mac Allister. Southampton will not let him leave on the cheap after giving City £10.5m for him a year ago. That deal included a 20 per cent sell-on clause, which is why the Saints want £50m.

Yet Liverpool believe they can sign Lavia for cheaper. It's still early days in the transfer window and more information on this proposed deal will emerge over the coming weeks.

Inacio on radar

Liverpool are interested in signing Sporting Lisbon centre-back Goncalo Inacio, according to Fichajes. The 21-year-old has made 119 appearances and won four trophies - including the Primeria Liga title - during his three seasons in Sporting's first team.

It's believed Sporting want €50m (£43m) for Inacio, who is regarded as one of the most exciting defenders in European football. Liverpool's main rivals for his signature are Chelsea, while Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are also interested in him.

Szoboszlai's first words

Szoboszlai believes Liverpool are the "perfect" club for him to take the next step in his blossoming career. The talent is a product of the Red Bull system and has already won plenty of trophies at Leipzig and Salzburg, including four Austrian Bundesliga titles.

He's also won back-to-back German Cups and was named as the Austrian Bundesliga Player of the Season three years ago. During the 2021/22 campaign - his debut season in Germany - he was named as the German Bundesliga's Rookie of the Month three times.

Szoboszlai said: "It’s really, really good [to be here]. I enjoyed the last [few] days and I’m looking forward to knowing everybody better. The last three or four days went really long, it was not that easy. But at the end I’m here, I’m happy and I can’t wait to get started.

"[A] really historic club, really good players, good coach, everything is good. For me it was perfect to make the next step in a club like this. The fans, the stadium, everything is really good."
