A market trader has been told to stop selling golliwog products at their stand by the local authority.
Stone Town Council stepped in to make the order after a concerned shopper alerted to local news outlet after discovering mugs and salt and pepper pots with the racist dolls on them.
They cost £7.99 and were being branded as "limited edition original gollys".
The local authority, which operates the market, has labelled the sale of these products as "totally unacceptable".
The anonymous Stafford shopper said: “I don't think it's acceptable to sell things like that. It’s likely not just to offend but also upset people. I don’t believe in 2023 that someone should have a stall selling gollys.”

The black rag doll was once popular as a children's toy but is now regarded as an offensive racist caricature.
The local authority said it the products are "totally unacceptable" (StokeSentinel)A council spokesman added: “The council was not aware of these items being sold, and finds it totally unacceptable. The stall-holder will be advised of this and it will be made clear that this will not be tolerated in the future.”
Earlier this pub closed following a row over its display of golly dolls.
Chris and Benice Ryley closed The White Hart in Grays, Essex, on May 1 after suppliers, including Heineken and Carlsberg, axed trade with them.
The Ryleys claimed the 15 dolls were donated by punters over the years, while some date back to their childhood, but it didn't go down well with people supplying and visiting the pub.
Soon afterwards, the Campaign For Real Ale (CAMRA) pulled the pub from its Good Beer Guide.
