Unusual baby names are rising in popularity, with parents caring less and less about what other people think, opting for names that will make their little one stand out from the crowd.

Despite the hype around Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury's baby name Bambi, they aren't the first Love Islanders to name their tot something unique.

A study by Confused.com analysed UK baby name data to reveal the most unusual Love Islander baby names as well as those that have increased in popularity the most, and the top five monikers are likely to be ones you haven't heard many times before.

Ranking in first place, the most unusual Love Islander's baby name is Xaya. The baby girl, who was welcomed in February 2022, is the daughter of Malin Anderson who appeared on the second series of the reality show.

The year before her birth, there were no babies born in the UK with the name, highlighting its individuality. Xaya is of Hindu origin, meaning 'shadow' and 'protective'.

In joint first place with Xaya comes Thaiga, daughter of Katie Salmon. The year before her birth, there were no babies in the UK with the name either, proving just how unusual the title really is.

The season two Islander revealed her daughter's name is actually pronounced 'Tiger', which means 'sacrifice' according to astrology.

In third place is possibly the most famous baby to ever come out of Love Island, Bambi. It's the moniker that stars Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury gave to their newborn daughter, and the season five contestants are overjoyed with their arrival.

The Pretty Little Thing creative Director announced her baby's unique name via Instagram after incredible anticipation from her fans in the months leading up.

In 2021, there were just four babies with this name, but there's no doubt the ex-Islander's influence will soon increase this number as other parents have already named their newborns Bambi following the couple's news.

Love Island baby names that have recently increased in popularity are Vienna, Delilah, and Roman.

Louise Thomas, Life Insurance Expert at Confused.com, said: "Our research shows that fans of Love Island seem to be naming their newborns after popular contestants from the show. Data shows a rise in the popularity of those particular iconic names, from the likes of Olivia and Millie to Tommy and Teddy."
